There's a bit of a learning curve, but I wish I'd bought one sooner.
This isn't the most intuitive point-and-shoot mechanism imaginable. However, the instructions are detailed and good, and if you follow them methodically, you will get good results every time, and it's amazingly convenient and satisfying. Go slowly the first few times you use it; you'll start getting faster at it very quickly. I *can* sew, but I rarely get around to it, so things that need mending or adjusting sit around forever, looking at me sadly from whatever corner I have stuck them in. That included anything that needed some kind of fastening. I received this item, and the next day completed a project I'd been wanting to do in about 20 minutes. The next time, I did more in less time. What took me the most time was figuring out and correcting mistakes I made in setting it up, due to rushing. Fortunately, I did take the time to be sure I was attaching the right piece in the right place. If you get the snap pointing in the wrong direction, or attached in the wrong spot, that's going to be difficult or impossible to correct. I actually held off on buying this because - being an impatient US consumer - I wanted something quicker and easier. Now that I've got one, I know that while attaching a snap may never be a task that takes less than 5 minutes, I get really solid, reliable results every time. I don't know of any quicker and easier solutions, but I'm not sure I'd trust them even if I did. This thing is really worth getting, and it's worth the relatively small investment of time to get comfortable with the process.

Bought specifically for Pearl snaps, works perfectly
Super simple to use, the ONLY thing I wish was better was if it actually held the Pearl side of the snap in place, it just sets in the die but doesn’t stay in place so you have to hold it with that side down. Otherwise, these function perfectly. I have a wayyy more expensive snap press from a popular brand that has rave reviews (which is why I initially bought it vs the Dritz) and honestly this Dritz one so far seems to be even easier to use AND has a lower failure rate compared to the Kam branded one. I haven’t had a single snap not work or connect using this, whereas the Kam press fairly often misaligns and results in ruined snaps and holes in the project. I bought it as a last minute decision since the die for my other press wouldn’t have arrived in time and I figured I’d use this then still order the other dies for the future and now I don’t think I’ll bother even ordering the others and will stick with this one.

Easy to use and wonderful instructions!!
I initially purchased a much cheaper plier and snap combo set and after countless failed attempts to apply the snaps to various fabric projects, gave up on metal snaps. I decided I was stuck using plastic snaps...which unfortunately seem to change shape slightly when they go through the dryer. I couldn't get the teeth of the snaps to line up with the actual snap part, at least one very sharp tooth would be outside the snap and would scratch me. All the snap pliers I found looked very similar to the set that I had and couldn't use. Then I came across this and decided to give it one last try. After all, I trust this brand. They arrived and I couldn't wait to try them. They worked on the first try! So easy I assumed I must have done something wrong. But no, they're holding great. The pliers are easy to use AND they come with very detailed COLOR instructions!! The instructions not only have pictures, they have words! Can you believe it? Instructions with actual printed, detailed words! Everything about these is awesome!

Product is faulty
I received one for Xmas and the prong wouldn't hold. It kept falling off making it impossible to install the snap. I bought another one through Amazon and had the same problem. Now I have two that I need to send back.

Works with Upholstery Leather!
I bought this to put some metal snaps on faux leather for a cosplay I'd been working on. Everyone fawns over this brand, so I had high hopes for this product. It was a bit odd to figure out (But that might have just been the fact that I was in a rush to finish). I got the tool set up how the instructions showed and prayed, not certain it would poke through such a thick fabric as upholstery leather, but it did, much to my surprise! I had to use quite the grip on it to make sure it poked all the way through, but for the most part, it worked rather well. Poked through the leather and the snaps stayed in all day (Needed them to stay closed for a decent 10 hours). I had no problems with the snaps not staying in the whole day (Even with taking the cuffs I had made on and off a few times). I did, however, have some issues getting the snaps to stay in the tool to line them up to the fabric, as they would slip out of the tool on occasion. That was frustrating, and could have simply been human error. Overall, though, I would recommend this product to anyone looking to put snaps in thin or even thicker fabrics. It did seem to strain a little with the leather, but with enough pressure, you can get it to stay!

The halo snap kit that I bought from a fabric store uses a hammer (not included) to install the snaps. It's noisy and I've damaged several snap parts during failed installations. It often took 5 minutes to install one snap. The instructions in this Dritz Plier Kit were easy to follow and made snap installation a snap! In 5 minutes I'd installed 5 snaps quickly and quietly.

I simply can’t get the spiky end of the fastener to stay put. I’m highly disappointed with this, it was expensive and I would like a refund

Pince parfaite !
