These are Elecrow's version of an ESP32 CYD (Cheap Yellow Display) for solo lottery mining. BUT they are different enough from other 2.8" CYD devices that you have to some extra work to get them running. One of the images for the listing shows ESP32-S3, but this is NOT what is in these devices, this only has the ESP32-32E N4. These are the newer version of the ESP32-WROOM. Still a fun device to have, and tinker with, but can be frustrating when it doesn't compile/build correctly. I set them them up with NerdminerV2 as a "lottery" miner for bitcoin. My hashrate is only ~350KH/s and not the 1000KH/s listed, but I am using the free open source NerdminerV2 vs the licensed NMMiner. It's a lottery shot either way, and it is more about the project of setting it up. When setting up nerdminer as another reviewer listed I did have to use the ESP32-2432S024 image for the display to work. It comes with a clear acrylic "case" that has some protective film on it to prevent scratches. One of my devices seems to still have the film on the inside, which was a missed step when assembled at the factory. Overall they are a fun novelty as a miner, but you can load other software (esphome with lvgl) on them which is where their real value comes from for me using home assistant. If ordering from Amazon these are on par with prices of other CYD since it comes in a two pack. You can find a CYD for cheaper if overseas but then have to deal with shipping and potential tariffs if in the US.
