Works as described
I bought this 2-3 years ago, full time use, and it still works well. It does get hot when being reconditioned/dried out and isn't smart enough to turn itself off that I can tell. I just check it occasionally when it's plugged in and unplug it as soon as the beads turn blue again. I also let it cool off before putting it back into my camera drybox.

Fire hazard
Do not buy this. This is very unsafe. There is only a tiny piece of paper between the electronics and the metal cage. This will start a fire.
