My favorite
The stats on this say it’s good for my goals but the flavor makes me want to eat them recreationally

Stick with the Original, This One's a Miss
We've enjoyed the original David Protein Bar for many months, so we were excited to try this new variety despite its lower protein content. Given how much we love the original (gold) bars, our expectations were high. Unfortunately, this product was a major letdown. The texture is the first issue: it eats like a stiff marshmallow, while the "crunch" pieces are unpleasantly hard, almost jarring to bite into. The flavor is the bigger problem, though. It comes across as artificial and chemical-tasting, with none of the satisfying quality we've come to expect from the brand. For the grams of protein per dollar, these simply aren't worth it. We're genuinely surprised David Protein brought this one to market. We'd recommend sticking with the original and skipping this variety.

Meh
First of all, the macros are great! The taste is also great; one of the best tasting protein bars I've eaten. The one big turn off for me is the texture of the "bar." It's mushy and chewy, but not even a good chewy... sort of rubbery feeling. The "crunch" on the outside chocolate is very, very hard and doesn't really "crunch," but hurts when you bite it. Maybe other flavors have different textures??? Not sure if I want to find out.

Protein Candy
Love everything about this protein bar that should be called candy. The macros are exceptional as well. Amazon delivered early and my wife and I were not upset about it. More time to enjoy a great way to add protein to our day.

Crunch implies crunch, right?
These are advertised as a crunch bar. I expected a solid bar. Instead, it's this soft and chewy thing. I couldn't eat it. I will give the rest of the bars away. Lesson learned. I'd had a David chocolate protein bar before, and liked it, so I thought I would like all of the chocolate variations. I was completely and utterly wrong about that. YMMV.

David’s Fan Beyond Disappointed
Let me start by saying I am a HUGE fan of David’s gold bars. I eat one almost everyday. So I was very excited when I heard they were releasing a new product. I am sorry to have to say this product missed the mark on every dimension. It is truly terrible. Let’s start with texture. It eats like a stale marshmallow. You have to chew and chew and chew to break it down. The chocolate covering crumbles and makes big mess. The crispy bites inside are small and overly hard. The taste (I had the double chocolate) was blah. For a bar in this genre, I think Barebells are far superior. Yes, you will get an extra 50 Cals for your 20g of protein but at least it is palletable. Sorry David’s - I really wanted to like this, but it is a one and done for me unless you make substantial changes.
