8 Packs Multi Catch Mice Trap Clear Top Silver Indoor Outdoor

I have mice invading the crawl space above my kitchen and can't find where they're getting inside. So I took to trapping them outside the building before they get in using regular snap traps. They work fine but I hated touching and dealing with them. So I bought these Mysora metal live traps. I set two of them out and caught six mice in 4-5 days. I do recommend them with a few caveats. The lids are on very tight and don't open easily. But with a pliers one can bend the metal flange just enough so they open more easily. Second, the way they came from the factory the little ramps inside the traps do not trip easily. So I reached inside with my finger and pressed down on them to bend/lessen the spring tension make it easier for the mice to get inside. At first I used peanut butter for bait which always works. But ants invaded the trap and started to make a mess. Plus peanut butter might attract larger critters like raccoons or even bears which are common here that might destroy the trap. So I switched from peanut butter to some stale shelled peanuts. Not the dry roasted kind, but the oily ones which have a smell. I put them in a little pile under the clear plastic window so the next day if they are spread around I know something is inside the trap. Getting the mice out of the trap is a bit of a challenge. They go inside the little chambers where the ramps are and make it very difficult for you to shake them out. All you see is a tail sticking out. So what I did is use a long needle nose pliers (cheap ones from Harbor Freight) and just crack the lid open slightly, reach in and grab hold of the mice by the tail or whatever and pull them out, then drop them into a bucket of water. No more handling dirty traps or touching mice. Some people have complained of mice escaping from these metal traps but so far I have not had that problem and some of these mice are young ones, very small. But I could see if you bend down the ramp too much it might leave a gap for them to escape. I was careful not to do that having read the escape complaints about the trap first. Good luck with your mouse problems --- they are a nightmare.

I really should have listened to the other reviews. The doors on all four traps were broken when they arrived so that mice could either have free access or not get trapped at all. The only way to even attempt to fix the problem that others have documented is to disassemble them and I'm not sure I could get them back together. While the lid is very tight and seems like they should work well, I had to return them as defective. It's sad because they seem like they'd have been a good value.

Due to shipping and handling the counterweight which keeps the entrance open becomes loose and seems broken. Taking the door mechanism out and bending the tabs to hold counterweight then reinserting door assembly fixes it. Now to see how well it works for mice.

Works as they should. Love that the weight of mouse is what opens door and then shuts behind them. Plus there's a lip so they cant just re open the door

Easy assembly for two people because of size. Nice garden bed.

Doesn’t work perfectly and hard for the cleaning

These work really well for trapping mice especially if near a water source or faucet. We use mostly outside or inside camper but the downfall is you need to check them daily and then transport mouse to new location 2 miles away. We catch mice just about daily. The clear top shows whether you have one but sometimes they do hide in corners. These work good if you have pets that you don’t want to get snapped in a regular trap.
