Does this product come in a 3M box? Or just with a rubber band?

Mine came bulk packaged without a 3M box, but the seller confirmed that they are indeed authentic 3M 7445 pads. Bulk purchasing yields better pricing... I'll take a better price over a stock box. Thanks CTI!

Will this stick to the bottom of a hook and loop orbital sander?

yes, this will stick to a hook and loop backer. i polish countertops from time to time and i use scotchbrite pads for an even finish on some surfaces. i use scissors to make the shape i need. i use a pneumatic buffer running at most 3000 rpm and they stick just fine. just make sure your hook and loop back is in good shape, not all worn out.

food safe? They say industrial, but can they be used pots, pans, dishes, etc.?

Personally, I have used these mainly In my bathroom and kitchen areas on the countertops and sinks...I don't think they would stand the test of time on pots and pans and the like! Hope that helped!

what is the thickness of the pad? I am looking for about 1/8" thick

they run about 1/4 give or take a little. they are a little varied in thickness and they do/can squish down flatter as you use them. if they need to fit into a clip of some sort, i use them in a sander as well, for me, they squish down and clip in pretty easily.
