The device will play any media ask long as you have an application to open and play it.

it's supposed to work with a lenovo thinpad ultrabook t440s but won't play anything. am running windows7. there are no directions with the unit.help!

There also may be an updated driver available on the lenovo website that may need to be down loaded. This item is made for windows 7 as you bought and received 4xa0e97775 which is the current and correct item for the t440s. If you had windows 10 ten you would need to update the driver.
