The Dreamiest Persian Cookbook
This cookbook is absolutely stunning. A gem! I was introduced to Persian cooking years ago by an Iranian who fled the Revolution long ago, never to return, and shared her culture through a cuisine that was a rare hidden gem to me. I was fortunate to learn how to make tahdig and some favorite recipes from her directly but I never imagined that a perfect cookbook like this would come to exist. Iranian food is known to be meat-oriented, and I am writing this before beginning the Khoresh chapter, but as a mostly vegetarian โflexitarianโ, this cookbook seems ideal. The photography is gorgeous, the layout is clean, and while great recipes dominate, there is just the right amount of text to describe family connection and interesting cuisine attributes. Iโm including a photo of all of the recipes Iโve marked only in the first part of the book. How lucky I am to have discovered this perfect Persian cookbook!

Delicious recipes!
I love Persian food, but this is my first cookbook to cover the cuisine. Really good cookbook to start with. Recipes are easy to follow and cover many of the more common dishes.

New flavors and recipes that will delight you
While I did need to stock up on a few Persian specific spices and ingredients, the modest investment was worth it! Persian flavors are unique. Think of Middle Eastern, Mediterranean and Iranian flavors combined. Anyone who enjoys new cuisine will find the foods in this book comforting and delightful. The stories in the book add to the experience of Persian cooking.

Excellent Book!
To start with, a very high quality cover and pages. I was extremely impressed by the quality of the book itself. Secondly, a lot of cookbooks I've used (both persian food and non) will have the basic recipes which makes up like 15% of the book and the rest is filler or foods i will never cook or ever want to cook. This book is not like that. There are MANY common dishes in here and I will probably cook around 70% of them. That is a crazy high return rate for me with cookbooks. What surprised me was for example the Tadig. They could have had 1 recipe that taught you the basics and left it at that. NO! They gave multiple types and options. Ones I had never even thought of before and that i find to be incredibly creative. And finally they even included a little glossary at the end that tells you about the different spices for us melanin deficient folks to learn about spices and what they do/are for. I had never seen a resource like that in any book much less a cookbook and i was impressed about that inclusion. All in all, totally worth it. Get it. Do it!

Buy this cookbook, change your life
This book is beautiful. I have read it cover to cover, and have cooked through half of it. Every dish has come out gorgeously. Every meal has been an experience I cherish. This book has broadened my palette (and my pantry) and augmented my skills as a home chef. It has introduced me to flavors and flavor profiles that I had no idea would become my absolute favorites. I can say, without a doubt, that Bottom of the Pot is my most cherished cookbook. It is my go-to gift for friends and family who enjoy cooking. It is 100% accessible and easy-to-follow for those with little to no experience with cultural cuisines different than their own. I have worked through many recipes and can't think of a single hiccup, minor or otherwise, that I would attribute to the recipe. Please buy this book, it is worth every penny. I would pay ten times as much for the amount of joy I have gotten out of it already!

Bottom of the Pot is a true treasure. A cookbook for cookbook lovers with beautiful photos and heartfelt stories - it is so rare that a cookbook is so touching that it would be you to tears. And great recipes that are easy to prepare. Must try the Morghe Torsh - Sour Chicken Stew. Delicious. One of the "must have" cookbooks. After receiving and reading mine I have now ordered more for family for holiday gifts.

I purchased this book for my wife who has a love of cooking and new cuisines. She has learned so much from our son-in-law who is from Iran. She loved the recipes in the book which are easily followed and the interesting stories preceding each chapter and recipe. She read the whole book front to back and then did it again. Needless to say the book was a hit!
