    Pleasantly surprised

I drive a commercial vehicle and Stock H 11 bulbs leave you blind to a lot of road conditions. There is always a dark spot in the center of your vision, the left lane and right shoulder are pale to dark. When a vehicle approaches from the rear with brighter lights, it creates a shadow that almost leaves you blind. Bulb life is excellent.. maybe 3-4 months ( lights on 24 hrs 6 days a week) and very affordable. So far I have tried every high end bulb I could find ranging from $30.00 to over $100.00.. the top of the line Phillips and Sylvania bulbs work well, but after 2 weeks the brightness is the same as a standard bulb and within 4 weeks they burn out. @ $35.00 - $50.00 per set of bulbs this is not affordable or reliable. So these bulbs advertise 40% brighter ( not great but better) my test was as scientific as I could make it. First I started with standard bulbs, I parked about 12 feet away from a wall with headlights on, I took a light meter and measured the brightest spot . The bulbs measured 700 lumens. Then I replaced the bulbs and measured again. They measured @ 1000 lumens. Accurate advertising on 40% brighter. As a comparison a dark completely overcast day through a windshield measured 1700 lumens. Then the road test... dark spot in the middle gone, left lane and right shoulder clearly illuminated. No shadowing present when brighter lights from behind. The distance the headlights shine seems about the same. So if you want to see further, probably not an improvement. As far as cost vs. value these are probably the best bulbs I have found so far. Will update my review when these bulbs burn out to give a better judge on value.Update: Bulb burned out 6/6/18 not bad bulb life. Bulbs were definitely dim after 4-6 weeks, so still a good value if I replace them once a month.

    Great price. Easy to install.

Great price. Easy to install if you look carefully at the spring clip retainer wires before you try to unlatch it. The latch has a lock, both wires move in the same direction. If you try to squeeze it together with pliers it won't unlatch. I tried it. Take the time to look carefully. Remove the electrical connector plug before trying to remove the wire spring clip retainer. You can see things better and the job is easier. Remember "Do Not Touch the Bulb with Fingers". Hold the bulb by the electrical terminals when inserting into the socket. Bulb produces blue tinted light.

Slight improvement but unsure about quality

Okay, if your car still has halogen headlamps, this is why you maybe reading this. Over time, even halogen headlamps bulbs will star to dim due to the filament wear. So replacing old bulbs can't be a bad thing.Whiter lighting can provide a little bit more visual detail at night compared to lower Kelvin number (yellowish) output. But too much white might cause some people to loose visual contrast, for others it's like night and day. (Pun intended)These bulbs are meant to add a little whiteness to the light output without going to 5000 or 6000k bulbs.Exact replacement, so fitting is no problem. Getting to the headlamps, will vary from car to car however. And another story in of itself. So, would I buy these again? Time will tell about durability, as most of these low budget China products are of suspect quality.I just wish the wattage was slightly higher, as these are still 55watts. 75watts would make them just about perfect without going to LED retrofit and worrying about heat issues.UPDATE: after running these headlamp bulbs for about two months, I have come to this conclusion. The contrast difference between the original halogen bulbs and these (whitish) ones is minimal. Plus quality control is somewhat lacking as one bulb is brighter than the other. I would expect them to be the same. I double checked if there were installed incorrectly or of the headlamp lens were dirty but even after washing the car and driving that evening, I can notice one is brighter than the other. Not sure if this is a covered warranty condition but it works for now.
