Lights brighten the area nicely. I used them down my hallway after power outage. I did not permanently attach them to floor so I could remove them. The only con is the light last about 40 seconds after no more motion is detected. I wish it last a bit longer. I am well pleased with product.

They perform exactly as advertised. Purchased previously for under counter in kitchen. Purchased these to put on steps in storm shelter.

Needed to provide light to a storage closet in a dimly lit area. The shelves were also extra deep. This was an excellent solution for this problem. The combination of motion sensing and ambient light sensing has worked perfectly. You open the storage closet door, the light goes on - daytime or night time. If the door has been left open, you walk up to the closet, the light goes on. Again it doesn't matter if it is daytime or night time. You must be realistic however. This is a battery powered device so you just can't expect it to light up a room brightly - even a small room although it is certainly would be light enough to see your way around. I have only had it installed for a week so I do not know how long it will last.(thus the overall rating of 4 stars). TIP: There are a lot of surfaces that the adhesive on the magnetic strip will not stick to permanently so I stuck it on then used two small, flat head screws to secure it. Just be sure to counter sink the screw so that it is flush with the surface of the mounting strip.

Low profile with lots of light.

I ordered these to put inside a deep pantry cabinet so we could see what was inside. They had a nice solid feel and were just the right size. They could not be any easier to install! I peeled the back off of the tape and stuck the whole thing just inside of the door, light attaches magnetically to tape for easy battery change. Tested them out - PERFECT! They would come on when I opened the door and turn off automatically around 60 seconds after I closed the door. I tested them two or three times and they worked just as expected. I did not tell my husband about them and waited for his surprise and amazement the first time he opened the cabinet. Imagine MY surprise and amazement when NOTHING HAPPENED. I went and removed one to test. NOTHING. batteries out then in again. It flashed as I closed the battery cover then NOTHING. being inside a closed cabinet they should not be activating at all unless the door is opened. Just walking through the kitchen is not enough to trigger. Given that info the batteries should last a lifetime. I tested the ones I took from the first failure and popped them into a battery tester and they are solidly in the green, not 100% but still only halfway to the 'it is getting kind of weak' line. for the first half hour I used them they were the perfect solution. Too bad it did not last longer. I will think about returning them but not sure if it is worth the hassle. 9-7-19 revision. After more time it appears that they DO work, they just don't like my kitchen light. When the ceiling light is off they work just as expected but if the kitchen light is on at any time of day the lights refuse to come on when the cabinet is opened. The light is attached to the 'ceiling' of the cabinet in the shadow of the inner door frame (maybe 2" high). The light from the ceiling fixture never touches the inside cabinet fixture. Apparently it thinks there is enough light even though inside the cabinet is still very shadowy. Upgrading from 1 star (because it did not appear to work) to 3 stars (because they work sometimes).

I bought these motion sensor lights for my fire arm safe. The adhesive on the back of the magnetic strip is very very strong when I initially applied it. However, from reading all the other reviews it appears that it may not be strong enough to hold the light when the batteries are installed so time will tell if it works. The install was super easy literally peel off the adhesive covering and stick it where you want it. The only downside that I had is that it takes several AAA batteries for it to work, which makes the device a little bit heavy. The motion sensors work extremely well if not by detecting your motion or any kind of movement, all you really have to do is just wave your hand in front of it and it will turn on. It does take a few seconds for it to turn off once you close the door or move away from it, but that is to be expected. Overall, I think these are a great buy and well worth the cost. I may even purchase another pack to use in other areas of my house.

Very easy to apply in dark cupboard. Not very sensitive to movement yet, but seem to be improving.
