So easy to connect to Matter over wifi to Home Assistant. No app needed, no one spying on you. All done locally with no need for connection to the cloud. Compared to the usual faffing around when I've had to connect smart bulbs via an app this was so easy.And the speed! It's lightning fast and responsive because it's not being sent halfway around the world over the internet. Highly recommended if you want security, speed and reliability. You don't need any hub just a local wifi network. And you don't need an app if you have home assistant with matter installed. This is how home automation should be.The bulbs themselves are bright for just 9W and the colours are great. They look like a high quality product. If you are using over Matter they don't have all the functions available that you'd have on the app but I can live with that as you can change colour, control transistion times and tone. Great buy. I will definitely be using Matter devices going forward.

I have bought this smart light bulbs around 9 months ago specifically for ease of control using an Alexa echo dot to control the lights and it is amazing.The lightbulb so far is good and really easy to use when using the app to change the colour and brightness, I do it everyday! Govee I believe is a reputable company when it comes to these as I also have another product from them just as good as these lightbulbs.So far I haven't noticed any immense use such as having burn marks none of that, I believe these bulbs are safe to use and the design of it is just as a regular light bulb making it work just as a normal when with even better features than a normal one.There are so many colours to choose from so whenever I want a light that’s dimmer at certain times this comes in handy having over 16 million colours I believe.

These bulbs have been brilliant since installing them. Setup through the Govee app was quick and painless, and they paired straight into my smart home routines without any hassle. Response times for on/off and colour changes are fast, and I've had zero dropouts or connectivity issues so far. Great option if you want proper smart lighting without spending a fortune.

Very easy to connect to WiFi and link Amazon Alexa , loads of colours to choose from and the dimming function is very good I’ve not tried using these on music functions but I guess they wil work okay , I have to link & had to replace some and they would not connect to WiFi so I returned them I even tried Phillips smart bulbs these also didn’t connect to WiFi so I took a punt on these and of oh joy the connection was faultless and the app very easy to install and link up with Amazon devices.

Has so much customisation available on the app, as well as so many different features such as automatically turning on when the sun goes down. Really good. Works well with Alexa, you can control the colour and brightness with voice activation, and also link it to alarms on Alexa and probably more that I haven’t set up yet. Was really easy to set up too. 😋😋 Amazing for the price.

These are Wi-Fi and Bluetooth enabled, so they work with Alexa and Google Home without needing a separate hub.​The Good (Pros)​The standout feature is the sheer range of colours and the quality of the "WW" (Warm White) light. Unlike cheaper RGB bulbs that struggle to produce a natural-looking white, these can go from a very cozy warm yellow to a crisp, bright daylight white that’s perfect for reading. The Govee Home app is one of the best I've used; it’s packed with pre-set scenes like "Sunrise" or "Movie Night," and the music sync feature—which uses your phone's mic to pulse the lights to the beat—is a fun touch for parties. The connection is very stable once set up, and the integration with Alexa is seamless, allowing for quick voice commands to dim the lights or change the mood.​The Bad (Cons)​The initial setup can be a bit of a faff, especially if your router isn't strictly separated into 2.4GHz and 5GHz bands, as the bulbs only connect to the 2.4GHz frequency. I had to retry the pairing process a couple of times before they finally "caught" on the Wi-Fi. It’s also worth noting that these bulbs are slightly taller and chunkier than a standard old-fashioned lightbulb, so if you have a very shallow or tight lampshade, they might stick out the top a little bit. Finally, while the white light is very bright, the saturated colours (like deep reds or blues) are naturally a bit dimmer, which is typical for smart bulbs but worth keeping in mind if you wanted a "deep blue" room to be fully lit up.​Final Verdict:For the price, Govee offers some of the best smart lighting on the market. The app features and the quality of the warm white light make these a fantastic upgrade for any home, as long as you have the patience for the initial Wi-Fi pairing.
