Oh boy do I know! I mostly buy this here here, but was in a hurry. Well that other brand if it was even a Brand had issues with tuning and staying turn. After 2 days U cht those strings and bought these. Right from the beginning I could tell the D'Addario Strings were responsive when tuning up on the Yamaha CS60. Should gave went to these first. I'm tired really if this junk mess from China that is a knock off. Review: Used these to fix a friends Yamaha CG102, perfect! - The friend doesn't play religiously and she's only just getting back to trying to learn to play guitar so I couldn't justify over spending for strings. These "student" strings clearly and amply filled the bill. They sound much better than the price would suggest too. Once I got them stretched out to be more stable they held tune very well and the resonance from the guitar was incredible. While you do have to deal with the variability of changes in a wooden neck for your tuning, having classical strings is much easier to deal with than electric guitars strings AND they're much easier to maintain as well. A simple wipe and your done. No need to use Fast Fret, Fret Ease or any type of string polish. The 3 bass strings are silver wrapped so they never corrode and the 3 treble strings are plastic so no corrosion there either. Stringing them up compared to a steel string fixed bridge is a little more involved but not something anyone can't learn to do either. You'll also really like the feel of these strings too. Most steel string and electric guitars have a slot for a ball (or in the case of Fender, "bullets" ) on the bridge that the string is set in to hold in place. Most classical guitars do not have bridges like this, they have bridges set up to tie the strings on. Guitars and guitar strings follow "standards" in their manufacture. They're made to match one another to produce accurate sounding notes. The distance between one fret to another is the standard they adhere to. 3/4 size guitars have shorter fret to fret distances - while full size guitars have longer fret to fret distances. So if you use full size classical strings on your smaller 3/4 size guitar the notes will sound lower than standard. **Q: What are the individual masses of each string?** A: I don't have a source for what they weigh but the string gauges are shown in the third picture (the back of the package) and are: .0285 , .0327, .0409, .303, .036, and, .044.
