Yes, I could not open this case at all, so I returned it, and they sent a replacement. I could not open the replacement either, so it is also returned. I planned to keep my will in it, but now I would not trust it. An executor might not be able to open the case either!

Will it hold a Glock 22? Does it have room for a full-sized pistol & at least 1 magazine?

Absolutely, I have my G22 in the small one. Fits fine. I have the XXL size for another pistol and, while I don't keep magazines in either, the XXL could have the pistol and 3-4 mags if you wanted to.
