We switched to this after a recommendation from a friend. We have been looking for a dependable weight loss food for our adult Labrador. We were paying double for another bag of food and couldn’t justify it. So far our dog seems to like the food, we will track her weight and see how it goes.

My 4 yo Springer has to lose 16 lbs. ☹️ Unlike most Springers, he doesn’t want to chase a frisbee or be very active. (It doesn’t help that it’s hot where we live). I switched to ProPlan weight management on the advice of the vet. He doesn’t love the taste so I drizzle a little fat free unsalted broth on it and he eats it up. I was concerned about cutting him down to only 1 cup per meal but it has fiber and he seems to be satisfied. My 15lb Chiweenie loves it, so she eats it too. What I’ve noticed in only 2 weeks is that he is feeling better, and is more energetic. It could be that due to the weather getting cooler but he is also beginning to slim down. I know that Springers are prone to joint issues and being over weight is a BIG problem. He is our 4th Springer and we’ve never experienced weight issues before so this is all new to us. I would recommend this food because I’ve noticed how much better he feels and I will be thrilled to get him back to his normal weight.

Quality of the product and the ability to get it delivered and at a very reasonable price is great. I have to make one comment about the packaging though. They put this 34 lb bag of dog food in a box that could easily hold 2 more bags the same size. The size of the box itself makes it somewhat hard to get your arms around it and the way the bag slides around inside really makes carrying it interesting. I get it out of the box right away and just carry the bag. Surely this is also hard for the carriers and it takes up way more room than necessary.

Recommended by my vet. If your dog(s) is putting in lbs weight maintenance is the way to go. You don’t give them less food, calorie content is less. Mine have been on it for 3 years.

My dog Izzy is 10 years old and has gained a little weight. My vet said she was “thick” she is also having issues with her back legs. Hopefully taking off so weight will help with her joints. We switched her food to Purina Pro Plan Large Breed Weight Management. Not only does she love it, but she has lost 8lbs!
