Briggs & Stratton 19HP MOTOR On Husqvarna YTH18524
I don’t do many reviews on products, but in this case I will. Because this information may be very useful to someone else that had the same problem or concerns. My 42” inch cut Husqvarna model YTH18524 engine shattered the piston arm cause of the balancer broke and it made the piston rod just explode. The motor was the 18.5HP 33R777-0005-G1 and I was looking for replacing just the parts. But it was a catastrophic failure in the motor. So I was on a hunt for a new motor… come to find out, the 33R777-0005-G1 are discontinued. So now I was upset cause now, I need to find a new Mower now versus a new motor… I was upset to say the least. But I started doing a lot of research on replacing the motor still. From the marketplace, eBay to amazon. Wasn’t sure buying a used motor on marketplace or eBay would been the best idea.. So got on amazon and seen the 19HP 33S877- 0019-G1 Motor. I researched into this motor extensively to make sure all components are compatible with my Husqvarna YTH18524. To my surprise, it was compatible with my mower. So I ordered it. I came fast, earlier than expected. Packaged well. Took the old motor out and dropped the new one in. Note the 19HP 33S877-0019-G1 “DOESN'T HAVE THREAD FOR EXISTING BOLTS” you can either use a threader and cut your own threads or you can get bolts and just bolt it on. The motor mount holes lined up perfectly and bolted on with ease. The electric harness was an exact match so all I had to do was plug and play, and connect the starter wire. Now with my mower it’s not a side exhaust, it’s a front exhaust and I ordered the 532137352 Muffler Kit (Muffler & 692236 Gasket) for Husqvarna and took off the side muffler that comes with the motor and switched with the front muffler and it fits perfectly. Pleased with how easy it was to install and pleased with how it runs. Be sure to add oil to it before starting it. The motors don’t come with the oil in it. So be sure to add oil before starting. As for value. It was well worth buy the motor and replacing that instead of buying a new lawnmower. And the power of the lawnmower was exactly the same as the old motor I took out. Hope this helps someone else out there.

Good replacement engine
I bought this engine to replace a Kawasaki engine on my Exmark mower at half the price of original engine. Had to modify the electrical connection so could connect to mower electrics. The engine is a little wider than the original so had to move the right side gas tank over about 2". Had to reroute the throttle and choke cables as they were to long. Mounting holes were identical to original, so mounting was a breeze. Make sure the shaft length is the same as original engine. Engine started right up, even with a weak battery which I replaced. Engine runs good. Recommend as a replacement for 19 HP Kawasaki engine. Have about 4 hrs on engine at this time. Will up date at later date. Have 10 hrs on engine, replaced oil and filter. Has not used any oil. Instruction says engine takes 48 oz of oil. I had to add approximately 55 oz to get oil to the full, but I had tilted the mower to one side to make sure all of the old oil would drain. Engine seems to run well at this time.

Easy swap and perfect fit
Very happy with the ease of installing on my 25 year old craftsman mower. Saved me a lot of money to buy a new mower. Installed in a couple hours. Only had to drill out the mounting holes to get the bolts through and connect up the starter, fuel and throttle. Put oil in and it fired right and ran perfectly.

Replacement for my Craftsman YS 4500
I used this engine for a Craftsman 42 inch YS-4500 mower (917.27664). The original engine was an Intek Gold 20HP (31P977-0670-E1). It was a virtual drop in. The electrical harness and fuel lines hooked up without any modifications required. I did need to reuse the old muffler, as the one the new engine came with wouldn't fit under the engine cowling. Not a big deal though. Disassembly of the old motor was easy enough. Four engine mounting bolts and the drive pulley bolt. But you will definitely want an impact wrench to make your life easier removing the fasteners. The old engine and the new engine were easy enough for me to lift by hand without help. There were a couple of things to look out for on installation. This engine does not come with new mounting bolts, so keep the old ones. Also, it will be a lot easier if you can run the bolts through the mounting holes on a bench before installation. The mounting holes in the block are not threaded. The B&S mounting bolts are meant to be self tapping/self threading. It is awfully difficult to do that laying underneath the mower. I would also not advise running these in with the impact wrench unless you really know what you are doing and are careful. It would be too easy to snap a bolt or strip the threads (that you just made). You could alternatively use a regular bolt with lock nuts, but these are not provided so plan ahead. The mounting hole diameter is 3/8ths inch. Also the documentation that comes with this engine doesn't cover installation at all. There are a few little plastic stops and metal screws that you need to remove before the throttle and choke will work. I kind of had to figure this out by trial and error. On the throttle body, where you connect the throttle cable, there is a small screw in a hole marked "R". You have to remove that to enable the automatic choke to work. Otherwise you will not get a full throw on your throttle lever. Don't forget to fill it with oil. You need 48 ounces of oil (also doesn't come with the engine). Once I oiled it up, she fired over on the second try. Overall it was a decent way to go versus rebuilding the old engine which broke a connecting rod. Other than some of the old hardware (bolts and muffler) and oil, this engine comes with everything you need. It has a new starter, fuel filter, air filter, etc. I would give it 5 starts if it came with better instructions, the mounting hardware, and the oil.

Awesome replacement
I want to first thank all of you who submitted a review for this motor. It was extremely helpful in helping me with the purchase. Each of you had good points from wiring, bolts, mufflers and fit up. Took half a day and I have everything I needed before I started. Motor installation was easy, started right up and running great.

easy install on great motor
I ordered this motor off of Amazon, it came from outdoor powersports, this company has a lot of chop, chop, from masachusets, to Idaho and I had it in 3 days, frontline motor , that you could tell was fresh, was not a motor that had been sitting in a warehouse for 4 yrs, I had did my research, and was putting this in a John Deere la110 mower, fit was perfect no mods at all , I did remove the muffler that came on it, and installed the original one on this motor. rest of the connections very basic, even came with new fuel pump and fuel filter installed, had oil filter on it but no oil in it, I didn't expect it to, just a reminder to not forget this, seeing oil filter on it , kinda makes you think it is full, it isn't.mounting holes lined up perfect, reuse the old mounting bolts, mower works great, runs great , new ones made so poorly, IT made sense to me to repair the old one with new motor, glad I did, it is built better than the new ones unless you spend 10 grand. I highly recommend this motor and this company. I have used it for 5 hours and then changed oil and installed vanguard synthetic in it, have put about 5 more hours on it motor does not use oil, or smoke, and runs very well good torque from it, nice to finally get what you pay for, can't beat briggs power, ran my old one low on oil, won't happen again, was my fault .

Easy replacement for Deere D110
My original Deere D110 B&S engine was burning oil and smoking so I replaced it with this. Install was much easier than I expected. Only modifications are remove the muffler that comes with this one and attach the original one from the old engine. Then move the oil spigot over to this engine (this one doesn't come with one) I was nervous about the mounting holes having no threads but if you use the original bolts from your OEM engine (lube them a bit with a greaseless lube) and start them slowly with a wrench, they create their own threads and go in actually pretty easily. The engine says it doesn't come with oil but it comes with at least half a quart. Keep aware of this when you remove the plug to attach the old spigot. Be prepared for oil to come out. Also be aware that in order to enable choke, you have to remove the screw at the throttle that has an "R" next to it. Engine runs smooth like butter. Very nice. Can't speak for its reliability yet but out of the gate it runs very nice.

Great but takes a bit of tinkering to fit in older engine bays
Great engine but its got a different exhaust on the front from the older motors so will need to remove it and replace with the old style to get it to fit in the older engine bays.
