Great little product
I have previously owned and used the Babyliss big hair with the larger rotating barrel. This was ok but too big for my just below chin length hair. The slightly smaller version is much easier to use and means I can get right to the roots. I love it and would thoroughly recommend it. A really useful hair tool. It really makes a difference to your blow dry and gives volume, shine etc. You do still need a hair dryer to part dry your hair first of all and I still use straighteners as well, but not as much! It's great for touch ups between washes and you can use it with hair products. I love John Frieda thickening spray for fine hair. This hair tool definitely adds volume and stops hair from being frizzy and fly away (I get lots of flyways!). The bristles do get a bit bent through constant use (well they did on the bigger version), but it still works fine. So I think this is great for shorter hair, but if your hair is much shorter than mine (chin length layers) the barrel will probably be too big. There are other products on the market with smaller barrels, but not babyliss. It also takes a little bit of practice to get right, but it's easy to use once you have the knack and virtually impossible to tangle up your hair (if it does just rotate in the other direction). There are some videos on you tube which are probably worth a look before you start using it. Hope this helps.

BaByliss 2777U 42mm - great product!
I previously had the Big Hair Rotating Styler (50mm) which I thought was a good product although the barrel size was rather large for my hair and I found it difficult to get 'height' at the roots. I only bought that styler last September and was dismayed when only some 6 months later it suddenly smelt terrible while in use last week and promptly conked out! The same day, after reading the reviews on this site I ordered the 2777U model (which has a smaller barrel). I think it's a great product! I have very fine hair which is in a longish bob style. I have used the styler after using my ordinary shampoo and conditioner (John Freida hair thickening range)and also in combination with hair boosting products such as Bumble and Bumble Hair Thickening spray and GHD Root Lift. The results are noticeably different - if I use hair boosting products the results after using the styler are much much better and last longer. The styler itself takes a little getting used to but it is honestly worth the effort. I am pretty rubbish at styling my hair but the rotating styler creates a wonderful salon-like blow dry in a short space of time. As I've said, my hair is fine so doesn't take long to dry - I can get a sleek bob style in around 5-6 minutes. You do need to practice using the machine - at the beginning you can get in a pickle pressing the wrong rotation buttons, get your hair tangled up after selecting the fast rotation setting etc but after a few attempts the results can be truly amazing. I think this barrel size is ideal for shorter hair lengths and on my long bob it works a treat. I'd also say that I get less static with this styler than I did with the previous one. One criticism though - I wish BaByliss had properly described what sort of hair length this styler is more suited to on the box or on the general promotional info it gives before one makes a purchase - it only described this styler being more suited to shorter hair in the instruction leaflet that I got after making the purchase! It was only thanks to the ladies who wrote Amazon reviews that I realised this model would be more suitable for my hair - otherwise I would have probably just bought the same model as before. Other thing to say - re: the styler that broke down. Amazon was absolutely brilliant at dealing with the refund - easy to contact, really friendly and helpful - faultless service. Thank you to all the people who wrote reviews on this product as it helped me to decide on this model - that's why I decided to write one too.

The Babyliss rotating styler has a great reputation but
The Babyliss rotating styler has a great reputation but, as I have shorter hair, I did not want a huge brush. So I was delighted to find that the same Big Hair rotating styler was also available with a smaller 42mm brush. This works really well on my hair, and is so much easier to use than a separate hairdryer and a brush ..... and you get a much better finish. The styler is easy to use. The rotation buttons are placed at the top of the handle, below the brush, so you have good control. I was concerned that I would get tangling problems (especially if I mistakenly rotated the brush in the wrong direction), but there have been no issues at all with this this. I really like this product and recommend it. The only reason I have deducted a star is because the cooling button does not work well - the dryer continues to blow warm air when you want to set the hair. I don't know if this is a fault with the item or faulty product design. But, still, I highly recommend this product.

AMAZING ! AMAZING ! AMAZING !!! I TOTALLY LOVE IT.
SIMPLY AMAZING !!! Ive been looking for a while for something to tame my hair, you name it ive bought it ? All sorts of products, hair masks, oil, coconut oil, all sorts of shampoo's and conditioner's. I got to a piont that i thought id have a look on online and on YouTube to see if anything comes up on there to do with hair, as i was looking at something to stop my hair been so fine as well as flyaway latley !! Totally driving me mad. I came across a number of gadgets to use, then this BaByliss Big Hair Rotating Styler caught my eye. Everyone was saying how good it was online ? So i went for it. All i can say is OMG I LOV IT !! Ive washed my hair this morning like normal and gave it a go, i honestly cant tell you how amazing this thing really is ! My hair is so so soft, silky with abit of volume. Normally i'm not a big fan on reviewing things, but this is honsetly amazing. All my static has gone from my hair, ive not even had to use my straightners at all. So with my hand on my heart if anyone out there is looking for something to either tame there hair, or give it a lift or just simply looking for a new hair dryer, This is by far an item to buy, ill be taking this on holiday and using it everyday, saying good buy to my normal hair dryer. Im honestly totally speechless as to how good this really is. I have fine-ish hair, shoulder length, which gets dry very quickly from using the straightners and washing it every other day if not somtimes everyday. I feel as though ive just come out of the hair dressers my hair looks and feels fantastic in every way. A real good buy, defenatly recommend.

Really fabulous!
Firstly I have to say how very grateful I am that people write reviews on Amazon. Without them I would never have risked buying this, thinking it was pretty dear when there are heated curling brushes for under £20. I was also worried that, having long, unlayered hair, my hair would tangle but thanks to one or two reviews that talked about this, I realised that with a bit of patience I would work it out. Now I only got it today and have already tried it and have to say it is worth every single penny! One reviewer wrote they had not used their ghd's since buying one and I can see why. Somehow my hair seems much smoother and I have to say the soft curl is perfect and so easy to achieve. If it helps people with long hair considering this, here is a small tip until you get used to the turning action (to stop tangling)....just hold the ends of the section of hair you are drying. Having said that, I got used to the turning action within minutes and my hair did not tangle. It might if you rush into it so just take your time and it is easy as pie once you grasp the idea. I love it, like so many other reviewers, who I can only thank for their help in my decision to buy this styler, I hope my review will help others too.

Not as good as the large barrel.
Doesn't suit my hair I much prefer the bigger barrel. Bought this as a replacement as my old one died on me suddenly. This is the 3 rd one I have owned in two years. I quickly realised when I opened it that I had ordered the smaller one which doesn't suit my hair style. Having said that the function is the same however the result isn't. I also found this smaller one seemed keen to yank my hair and often found myself getting out knots that had been created and hair kept getting caught in the gap where it rotates. My hair is just passed my shoulders. I began using these when I developed a frozen shoulder. They are an excellent product however don't seem to stand the test of time. The past ones have all died in the same fashion. Slow to turn then the motor burns out. I use mine a couple of times a week at most. I should maybe consider taking this issue up with Babylis. My three stars are because this trader advertised this at one price then added VAT on at the end which meant the item was six or seven pounds more expensive than advertised. There was no sign stating the price didn't include vat until checkout.

Love Love Love this !
Having owned and loved the previous version, I looked forward to recieving this. Wasnt absolutly sure I wanted to fork out the hefty price tag again but I'd left my former one in Spain thinking I could get by without it. How wrong was I! After waking up to hair with a will of its own I was relieved to see my item was being delivered today. I have shoulder length, rather thick coloured blonde hair cut into a bob. It has a natural wave and looks "undone" if I leave it untouched (dragged through a hedge backwards as my husband likes to phrase it). So I couldnt wait to unpack and see if it could tame my flyway, wayward locks again. Within 4 or 5 strokes my hair was looking smooth, silky, curling under at the ends, the way I like it to look! Yes ok it isnt a cheap item, I wont mention to hubby how much it actually costs, but it really is worth its weight in gold. Amazon has the best price I have seen anywhere anyway. I am not keen faffing with my hair so this item just makes it all so much easier and quicker. I just wash my hair and let it air dry for a while then when its almost dry I run this through it, somtimes I may use a serum after just for a bit of extra shine. Dont worry bout it getting tangled in your hair, it just doesnt. I love this item, dont hesitate, buy it and try it i know you wont be disappointed.

The best hot air dryer I've had
I've tried a few hot air dryers now, but this is certainly the easiest to use and gives the best results. The dryer has very soft bristles and, used without the rotation on, doesn't really grip the hair, but once the barrel is rotating it grabs the hair and dries it just like your hairdresser would. Just clip up the top section and start drying the underneath first, working one section at a time. It doesn't tangle and leaves my hair beautifully soft and shiny. My hair is just below chin length and quite fine but with natural kinks and a mind of its own! This version has the smaller size brush, but it is still quite large and I wouldn't think it suitable for very short hair. It gives lots of volume to the style, so if you want poker straight hair keep your straighteners handy. I dried my fringe and it ended up an inch above my eyebrows - great for when your fringe needs a trim - but I brought it down to earth with a quick flick of my GHDs! Some reviewers have commented that it is unreliable and broke soon after purchase. I've only had mine a few weeks so can't comment on that, but as the product comes with a three year guarantee I would say keep your receipt with the instruction book in a safe place and you are covered.

Also eine absolute Kaufempfehlung!
