Great for hardware hacking failures
Effective for repairing broken PCB traces. I recommend using masking tape as a guide for extremely small traces.

Worked perfectly - just give it lots of time to dry!
It was easy to clean the surfaces and to apply the new coating - the hardest part was taking the *^$%$%^ Harmony remote apart. As per the instructions, I gave it a couple of hours to dry under a heat lamp before reassembling. Unfortunately, that must not have been completely dry because it almost immediately gunked up and shorted a couple of the contacts, rendering the remote unusable. So I took it apart again, cleaned up the gunked areas, reapplied the coating, and this time I let it dry overnight - around 12-18 hours. Reassembled the remote the next day and every button's been working like a charm for a few weeks now. Wonderful stuff!

Conditionally good.
This stuff is really good but it depends on what you are repairing. My remote controls worked really well after applying the coating. The adherence was good. Just barely tap the button and it works. I tried repairing a Korg SP170s 88 key piano. At first I thought the repair was done. I went through the trouble of measuring ohms on the contacts. There is a silicon bellows behind the piano keys that have two contacts. So I measured both contacts on all 88 keys, 176 contacts. Around 50 ohms on all contacts, Really good results considering the carbon on the circuit board measures about 20 ohms by itself. That means the coating was only adding another 10 ohms. Played on it for a few hours. Screwed the piano together and one of the keys became intermittent. When I got it back apart I found that the coating had flaked off. So not so good adherence. I cleaned and dried the contacts thoroughly with isopropyl 99%. I cured the coating in an oven at 125F for an hour. The failure occurred about 24 hours after that. So mixed bag. Probably going to keep my remotes going forever.

Expensive, but it works.
It's crazy that this little tiny vial and $0.25 worth of "accessories" is $20, but I paid it and it worked beyond expectations. I used this to fix two things, my Kitchenaid refrigerator's water dispenser pad and my garage door keypad. Both were worn out and required pressing about as hard as you could to get them to work. I took them apart, applied the paint to the pads, and now they work as good if not better than new. I noted that the instructions said for best results cure at 125F, so after applying I just set the pads on a furnace register for 1.5 hours. Again, quite expensive for this little tiny vial, but I'll probably never use it all in my lifetime and it saved me at least $200 and saved my gear from ending up in a landfill. UPDATE: Well it's been 6-7 months and I just had to redo my refrigerator water dispenser pad. It just got worse and worse until about the 6 month mark where it was as bad as it was before I bought this stuff. This time I tried using a thicker application, and I used my 3D printer heat bed set at 60c and left the pad on there for 25 minutes to dry and cure. Hopefully I'll get longer than a few months this time, but if I only have to do this once or twice a year it's still better than replacing a $200 switch pad.

It works.
First time to use and worked good. Re-coated key strip for Yamaha vintage music keyboard/ synth. Amazed it worked that good, no dead keys now. Great product. Thank you.

Thought this would work...but not!
My old MIDI keyboard uses rubber contact strips with the same principle as remotes. Pressing a key activates a sound. The carbon dots are probably worn out as some keys no longer work. Did a resistance test on them and anything around 10K is too low to activate the key, (the standard is around 100 to 1000K). The replacement part is no longer available from the manufacturer so I tried this stuff on them following the instructions and got nothing. Didn't make any sense to me why this wouldn't work so I tested it on a piece of plastic and got zero resistance, (no conductivity). Did I get a bad batch? I gave up on this but kept playing around with it as I did a little more research. I grounded down some graphite from a pencil, mixed it into some of this silver coating and repainted the carbon dot. Once dry, I did a resistance test on it again and WOW! it worked. So all is not lost. But this Caikote 44 on it's own did not work for me. On it's own my batch once dry did not have any conductivity what so ever. So my conclusion is some of this stuff is poorly made and may not work in some cases as it happened to me.

Saved a remote and two key fobs for a few months, then stopped working
Had remote control that had a faulty volume control. Even after cleaning the contacts, it still didn't work well. Coated the contacts with CaiKote and like magic, the volume control worked great again. Similarly, had 2 RFID key fobs for a car which would not work well anymore. Opened up the fobs and noticed the worn battery contacts on the PCB and coated them with CaiKote and again, the key fobs work like they were brand new. Great product. EDIT: I see what other reviewers mean. This stuff works for a few months, but eventually it wears out. In one case, it started short-circuiting in my remote control and randomly triggering button presses.

Successful Repair of Keypad
I bought CaiKote 44 and KeyPad-Fix to repair the flexible membrane keypad on my CPAP machine. I tried KeyPad-Fix first, let it dry overnight as directed and tried it the next day. It did not work at all. None of the coatings failed to bond, they just did not conduct to turn on the machine. I cleaned off the coatings and put on CaiKote 44. Cured it under a light as directed and it has worked perfectly so far. (Two days only, about 10 - 15 button pushes so far in total.) I will try to send an update in a few months if it is still working. Certainly will if it stops. (A new CPAP machine is $400 even with insurance so I am hoping this is a permanent fix.)
