Bosch Cordless Chainsaw UniversalChain 18 Excl. Battery/Charger

Best tool purchase I’ve made. I used the Pole saw for most thick branches but this chainsaw is my go to. I didn’t want a heavy duty noisy chainsaw as I only have about 10 trees and lots of big shrubs and bushes to tend to. I changed the guide bar to an Oregon without the guard.This chainsaw has cut through trunks longer than the bar tacking it in two halves. No kickback and you can use one handed if necessary as it’s lite and manageable. I didn’t fancy swinging around a chainsaw that may cut my leg off or cause me serious injury but needed something to tackle branches I was using a hand saw or the pole saw on. Love this little tool. I’d advise the 4+amp battery as delivers more power for longer. I use both as have a few batteries but the bigger one is best.

Works brill, battery lasts good while depends on what yer cutting.

Great product to use in garden, light weight

This is quite a good chainsaw. It grows on you over time . Very slow rotation but it actually does the job of cutting through branches. It’s not as good as a petrol engine but will cut through substantially thick branches with its chisel chain . Very good pruning saw and it will cut through a branch as thick as 12 centimetres. A handy tool and safer than struggling with a Bow saw on a ladder and can be used one handed as it is very light.

Great piece of kit! First point - I removed the tip guard (see pic). Anyone removing safety equipment clearly does so at their own risk and I'm not recommending it, but it is easy for a competent DIYer (just drill out the soft metal rivets) and the resulting tool is hugely functional. Used with two hands I think it very safe anyway - although the handguard isn't linked to the brake, the saw doesn't have much of a kick and stops instantly when you release the trigger. It's light and easy to wield even at your feet or above your head - much more so than a full size chainsaw - and the resulting 8" blade is great both for proper cutting (>8" fenceposts and logs) and cutting a path through dense rhododendrons. The 2.0 Ah battery lasts me an hour of intermittent use when brush cutting, but you want a spare. I have one from my Bosch PSA 18 LI 18v sabre saw which I like but the chainsaw is far more usable. I only use the sabre saw now where access is tricky and only its long narrow blade can get in there. I've owned the UniversalChain 6 mths and no problems so far - It feels well made and robust, like the Bosch green kit generally is. Enjoy.

Lightweight but very effective in cutting through wood with great stability and very little noise or vibration.German engineering at its best as expected from Bosch.Unreservedly recommended as worth the money!

Nice little lightweight chainsaw.Easy to set up and use from the box, just hook chain and blade in, tension it up and use the oil supplied and you’re ready to chop stuff down.Uses the same battery as a few of my other Bosch tools, so made sense for me to get this one to save on another battery/system.Cuts with little effort and I’ve got through about 100mm trees and branches no problem.Nice to have the front of the blade protected too and handle is sheilded nicely for safe grip.Would recommend 100%

Great little saw,works really well & designed really well,with simple operation.Has not leaked oil & being electric the noise level is much quieter than a petrol version.It's compact & easy to store when not in use.I'd say great value for money & I'd recomend it for small jobs.If you are considering this item, have confidence in it,it's a great little saw.

Doet wat het moet doen. Zaagt prima door dikke takken van bomen en struiken die je met de tang niet kunt snoeien. Als je een boom om wilt zagen moet je iets anders zoeken. NB: wordt zonder accu geleverd.

Bought this chainsaw a couple of weeks ago. I’d read some good reviews about it and seen some video reviews on YouTube about it. All of the reviews were accurate. It’s a little beauty! It happily munches through any task I give it, it’s light and it’s very easy to use. It might take a few more seconds to chew through stuff than a petrol one but it gets through anything. I have no problems recommending it.

Den är bra för vad den är. Kedjan går ganska långsamt så det är inte världens snabbaste motorsåg. Men det är nog en av de smidigaste. Jättebra till trädgården och den räcker långt bara man har ett rejält batteri. Skyddet i änden på svärdet är bara i vägen, men det är bara att borra bort två mjuka nitar så blir man av med det.
