Aftershave that smells divine!
Smells good on my husband. Long lasting scent all day.

Smokey, powdery; worth trying if you enjoy other Clubman scents
I'm not a practiced aftershave reviewer, so I can't compare scents very well to base ingredients. I do have quite a bit of experience with Pinaud Clubman scents, so I feel like I have a good understanding of how Whiskey Woods falls into the brand's lineup. For me, Whiskey Woods has at two phases as it warms to the skin and lingers. The smell from the bottle is smokey and muted. As you apply, the smokey liquor smell is moderately heavy with just a bit of sharpness. For me, that effect wears off within 15 minutes. At that point, it maintains a masculine effect with faint smokiness, but mellow sweet (fruity?) powdery scent. To my untrained aftershave senses, it seems to lean towards the powdery aspect of an old spice for several hours. A light splash doesn't last more than 4 hours for me. Heavy splashes will last all day. I find it to be a good middle ground between regular Clubman and Special Reserve. If you didn't like how heavy handed Special Reserve is, but want something heavier than regular Clubman, this might be what you're looking for. This scent is very masculine. Although it hasn't been around very long, it does not have any resemblance to modern "sporty" (i.e. very sweet, aqua) scents you get with so many colognes. This is old-fashioned and a great variation on classic Clubman scents. It's awesome to see Pinaud introduce a scent that embodies old-fashioned qualities in a modern way.

Smell like a good Whiskey
Great smell, love the feeling after I shave, it is cool and refreshing. Definitely feel clean, and my skin feels much better after the shave. I would buy this again. I will explore other fragrances, but I am partial to the whiskey notes as it fit's my basic smell profile.

It's strong!
Well I can honestly say this doesn't lack for strength. I opened the package and caught some whiffs. When I cracked the cap my head jerked back from the initial strength of scent. My mom is in town and said she loves it! My wife however refused to let me touch her pillow because she was afraid it'd rub off and continue to choke her through the night (this was freshly out of the shower). I'm also a clean shaven bald gentleman with a short beard, so maybe I didn't the 4 or 5 drops all over my head but that was also kind of the point! She also said I smelled like an old man and I'll be honest, it's the first thing I thought as well. This scent reminds me of the recently retired gents. It does smell great and if my wife could get over it I would probably be fine using the whole bottle. If she can't, I'll bring it to my office to use as an air freshener.

REDEMPTION!!!
Finally, a Clubman product that deserves the "Special Reserve" (SR) showing on the bottle!!! The original special reserve is the only aftershave I have EVER thrown out. Its use was deeply frowned upon for use around the house. People who oftentimes compliment me on aftershave choices were keeping a respectful distance. It's not-so-subtle blend of caked urinal (not urinal cakes) and death actually caused the pets to hover, but I'm pretty sure they thought there was a carcass in it for them. I smelled incontinent. It had to be kept in a ziplock because it stank up the bathroom and it's power was unrelenting. When worn, it was like getting punched in the nose everytime the breeze shifted or the AC kicked on. I have moved to the South where it is hot and humid and I can't even describe the horrors of heating this stuff up. I thought there might be something to the "pat down", but I only made it through a couple of days, sitting in my shame. If I'm being honest, it made me hyper self-conscious.Terrible. Now that the venting is over, other Clubman products I DO like include the original (classic, barbershop) and the citrus musk (a little too lemon/lime cleaner at first but settles down beautifully and smells great on hot days). When I opened this one, I caught what I thought was a whiff of the original SR, and thought, "fool me twice...", but was completely wrong. Best guess is that it was stored within a mile of the SR and death came calling. It has a leather, tobacco and almost minty smell which I believe is the "bergamot" they describe, but wonderfully blended and balanced. The whiskey is found more in the dry down and is warm and inviting, with notes of pepper. Throughout the evening, I would catch slight notes here and there, but was not overpowered as some Clubman products can be. Definitely worth a buy and am excited for the Gin one that's on its way!

This one didn’t work for me
My initial impression of this Whiskey Woods scent was positive. It immediately reminded me of my grandfather, back when I was about 4 or 5, who used to wear some after shave called “Nuts and Bolts,” which was packaged in a bright orange plastic jar resembling a “nut” or a “bolt” and to a 4 year old kid was one of the neatest things in the world. I googled the stuff and apparently it was sold by Avon. Unfortunately, my later impression after trying this Whiskey Woods scent was that smelling like your long-deceased grandfather is maybe not such a good thing after all. This stuff stinks. And the stink lingers. I eventually gave the 99% full bottle to a slightly older gentleman friend of mine and told him if he disliked it as much as I did to please throw it in the trash.

Virilità e mascolinità, non volgare. Profumo autunnale/invernale potente, da uomo capace di "abbracciare" e custodire chi ama, incondizionatamente.

Great oldschool fragrance, barbershop vibe. Packaging bottle feels cheap for a home collection, but it also cost cheap so i guess that's fine.
