The double knee is very durable and I haven't been able to tear these pants yet when getting hung up or snagged on something around the shop. Third point for me is the pocket setup. I have recently transitioned to carrying my cell phone in the lower right "cell-phone" pocket that utility pants typically offer. On this pair of pants, this pocket is more secure and a bit more aft than other utility pants that I have purchased. This works a bit better for me, because my phone fits in this pocket tighter - I have lost my phone before on a test ride and have had to go back out to find it while wearing other pants.
