Solo Pet Doors Automatic Electronic Dog and Cat Door (10" H by 8" W - Door Install)

This product is amazing! I originally purchased the High tech pet door, which I do not recommend it had nothing but problems. The solo door operates with a magnetic collar which takes the worry out of it failing. I ordered 5 collars which all fails from hightech pet. This was a big concern as I live in the northeast US and it gets very cold. If the collar failed during the extreme cold my dogs could have froze to death. Solo is a bit More expensive but 100% worth it! Dogs have been going in and out with out any issues. Just make sure you follow the directions for setting it up and once your dog gets used to it change to the recommended setting and the door should last a long time.

Works awesome! Lets the dog out and keeps the cats inside! Update: After a few months, during Winter, it stopped working. What I found was an IC on the circuit board with pins not soldered. The pins made contact with the circuit board until it got cold and the board warped slightly. I resoldered the IC and removed the board from the plastic box. Remounted the board using standoffs for easier access if the board craps out again. Aside from that it has worked flawlessly!

Door works good for the 3 weeks I've had it the 2 little dogs we have learned to use it easy enough. Had one minor shipping mishap. I ordered 2 collar magnets only received one in package, but they resolved or problem quickly and were friendly with no extra shipping charge so was happy with door and service. Was easy to install in my fiberglass style door as well.

The problems with this item are as follows 1) Wearing a collar is not recommended for an outdoors cat. 2) Cat collars are quick release, so an outdoor cat will lose it. 3) A magnet on a dog collar will have unintended consequences (please see attached image) 4) If that magnet gets too close to your phone or laptop, kiss it goodbye. 5) ANY magnet will open this door, which makes your house very easy to break into. Please someone make a secure microchip version of this! (otherwise, it does work as advertised - hence 3 stars!)

Excellent product. Well made. Works well so far but we do not yet have much experience with it. The owner of the business was easy to work with and very cooperative in exchanging our original unit for another bigger one. Our fault as we selected the wrong size. Had we paid attention to sizing instructions the issue would not have happened.

The door works fairly well. I had to add two additional brackets to more securely adhere it to the door. The door opens and closes most of the time I am near it even though I don't have any magents on me. The door also stops working from time to time. I turn it off and then on again and it continues to work. We put magnets on our pet's collar and have had no issues. I don't know the long term quality since we have only used it since June 2015. As of right now I would recommend it.
