DMC Charles Craft Monaco Cloth - 28 Count - 15"X18" Box - White

I love it. I prefer linen over aida, and this is very similar to linen. It IS a little stiffer than linen and about as stiff as a fresh piece of aida, but that's exactly what I was looking for. I used a PVC style frame instead of a hoop, it's probably easier to get into the frame than it would be to get into a hoop due to the stiffness. As with linen you would probably want to stitch 2 over 2 or 1 over 2. This piece was stitched 2 over 2 (2 strands of floss over 2 holes in the fabric, you stitch in every other hole) - stitching over 2 makes this the equivalent of 1 count aida. The stitches came out perfectly even, and the edges held up fantastically - I did not glue or finish them before starting this piece and there was minimal unraveling. It's very nice fabric, I do recommend it.

I only received 2 of the 4 that I ordered, but I LOVE cross stitching on this fabric…when it’s not so stiff it cuts my thread. Projects work up great, once the fabric softens a little!

I have purchased Charles Craft items in the past and it does not disappoint. No issues with this purchase. I have not tried using a 28 count fabric before and did not want to spend a lot of money to try it. This fabric fit the bill.
