These boots are simply amazing. They are so well made, from the heavy leather to the fine stitching. Order your regular size as these are extra roomy should you need to double / triple your socks on a hiking trip you will be fine. Buyer beware, just like the description states, these are true combat boots and don't have a lot of padding in them, but with the extra room you could always add an insert. Very very happy!

I always worry when I order shoes online that they won't look or feel like expected. These boots were a win for me. They are true to size and fit comfortably. They appear well made. No loose stitching or glue issues. I can wear them comfortably all day even though they are not my daily wear shoes. They look good aesthetically.

I don't know if all the versions of this boot come from the same makers, but I've worn permutation or another 55 years, and this make appears to be at least as well made as any. These are actually a relatively sturdy boot. Yet they're lightweight and quite breathable. Although I wear these even for brief outside work in the snow, they really shine in the summer. They were my go-to summer backpacking boot for many years; and I've also worn them extensively for flyfishing when it's too hot to wear waders. They're really a very useful boot design. They've served me so well, I wouldn't even bother with any other summer design. The size fit perfectly. As a routine precaution, I treated my leather with Huberd's Boot Grease. They'll last longer if you take care of them. I've gone a long ways on every pair of these that I've ever had.

These right out of the box fit and wear well. I broke these in with hot water and then wearing them for a few hours after. I am amazed at how well they fit and are holding up.
