I had this machine up and running within minutes of unboxing. Headphones are really great quality and the recovery speed when passing the col over a target is really fast. The Wifi unit required charging, but the main unit was already appearing fully charged and ready to go straight out of the box. I have a number of Minelab detectors but this one really does appear to have an interesting edge. I tested it with the basic 11" coil over a trashy piece of ground and within 20 minutes pulled out 3 targets. Great machine!

What a great machine, it is quite complicated and you will possibly be finding things that it does for years to come. Possibly the best "Starter" machine if you can afford it, best if you take your time to learn its many applications. We have found many coins so far, and a lot of rubbish. I have been told that the swivel point where it joins the coils is a little fragile but mine had been brilliant so far.

What I do love about this machine its pretty much ready to go out of the box even for a novice, the presets are excellent and you will be finding things in no time, but as you become more competent with the machine there are plenty of settings and options to play with. As with most metal detectors you never stop learning but the Minelab Equinox 800 definitely has the power and scope to grow with you.

Great this is my first detector and a love it depth is very good 18 inches easy not to heavy witch is good when on field all day swinging it gold setting on it if you gold hunter

Lost my ring while snorkeling.. got a Garrett AT Pro the next day, spent days looking for it, turned up very little, covered the area well.. Took a liking to the hobby so upgraded to the Equinox 800 - loved it! big improvements were the wireless headphones, much lighter, rechargeable battery (and works off portable power banks too) and a backlight on the display! But then there's the detecting.. found stuff i did not find with the AT Pro, and I found my ring 7 days of searching later! Highly recommended.

Love my detector. I have had it for a while now and the battery lasts a long time. Good Bluetooth headphone connection. Pinpoint accuracy, durable, multiple sounds with volume control.
