The Dock IT and Media Professionals Have Been Waiting For
The OWC Thunderbolt 5 Dual 10GbE Network Dock is the real deal. Three fully independent NICs (dual 10GbE + front-facing 2.5GbE), three downstream Thunderbolt 5 ports, four USB 10Gb/s ports, and a fanless aluminum chassis that stays cool under sustained heavy workloads. If you need network segmentation, high-bandwidth storage connectivity, or serious docking capability, this is the only TB5 dock on the market that does it all in one box. Build quality is excellent and the form factor is impressively compact for what it delivers. I'm running this with a 49" ultrawide at 5120x1440, dual 10GbE into my lab network, and multiple USB peripherals. Everything is ran through a single Thunderbolt 5 cable. Everything works flawlessly. Rock solid. On the performance side, iperf3 testing against a 10GbE endpoint showed 9.49 Gbps sustained throughput, which is effectively line rate. The Marvell AQC113 NICs deliver exactly what they promise. Two Things to Know Before You Plug In (read the docs) First, the Ethernet ports require separate driver downloads on Windows and Linux. The dual 10GbE ports use a Marvell AQC113 chipset and the front 2.5GbE uses a Realtek RTL8156B — each needs its own driver installed from the manufacturer's site. OWC documents this in the included materials, so carefully read the documentation before setup. If you plug in an Ethernet cable and nothing happens, this is why. Don't panic, just grab the drivers. Note: do not download the "Marvell AQtion Firmware Updater Utility" — it's not needed. Second, no display cable is included. You'll need a USB-C to DisplayPort or USB-C to HDMI cable depending on your monitor. If you're driving a high-resolution or high-refresh-rate display, make sure the cable supports DisplayPort 2.1 or HDMI 2.1 — an older spec cable will limit what you can push. A Note on Troubleshooting If you experience display flickering, intermittent disconnects, or devices dropping off the dock — check your laptop first. Update your BIOS, Thunderbolt firmware, and GPU drivers from your laptop manufacturer's support site before assuming the dock is at fault. Thunderbolt 5 is still relatively new and laptop manufacturers are actively shipping firmware updates that improve link stability and power negotiation. Every issue I initially attributed to this dock turned out to be a laptop firmware issue that had nothing to do with OWC's hardware. Due diligence is key here, this is bleeding edge speed and laptops love to power down connections, which is NOT DESIRED at these specs! Room for Improvement My only suggestion to OWC: at this price point, include a USB-C to DisplayPort cable in the box, or at minimum, put a clear callout on the packaging about what cables the buyer will need. A short setup video covering the driver downloads and cable requirements would also go a long way toward preventing avoidable returns from buyers who understandably expect plug-and-play at this tier. Testing Your Network Speed If you want to verify you're getting the full 10GbE performance, you can run a free tool called iperf3. You'll need two machines — one on each end of the connection. On Windows, open a terminal and run "winget install iperf3" to install it. On Linux, install it from your package manager (e.g., "sudo dnf install iperf3" or "sudo apt install iperf3"). Start iperf3 in server mode on the remote machine ("iperf3 -s"), then run the test from the machine connected to the dock ("iperf3 -c [server IP] -t 30 -P 4"). The -t 30 runs the test for 30 seconds, and -P 4 uses four parallel streams to fully saturate the link. If both ends have 10GbE NICs and your switch supports it, you should see close to 9.4–9.5 Gbps. Note: you may need to open port 5201 in your firewall on the server side for iperf3 to connect. Bottom Line Five stars. This is outstanding hardware that delivers exactly what it promises. Just come prepared with your drivers downloaded, system fully updated, and a display cable in hand, and you'll be up and running in minutes.

no power to host port
Thunderbolt 5 Dual 10GbE dock seems OK on the surface but does not power the host port. 90W power supply, all the thunderbolt ports are 15W, which is very strange. So, this dock is not really 1 cable, it's 1 cable + 1 power adapter for a laptop. It's fine for a Mac mini or a Mac Studio, or other desktop computers.

You need to install the OWC Dock Ejector software.
It's a fantastic dock, and works well with my two monitor setup on a 14" MacBook Pro with the M4 Max chip. One thing to note, however: I spent a couple of hours chasing my tale trying to figure out why it wouldn't run with the clamshell closed. That is, for some reason when I closed the laptop lid, the entire setup went to sleep. Turns out--for some reason--this gets resolved when installing the OWC Dock Ejector software. Apparently that does more than help you make sure your removable media is ejected properly before unplugging; it also does something in the background to allow running with the lid closed. (Of course this may all be voodoo stick shaking on my part; that is, it may be correlation rather than causation that my installing the software resolved my problems. But I'm writing this review for others who may have the same issues.)

Thunderbolt 5 Dual 10GbE Network Dock doesn't charge a laptop
OWC claims "One Cable" but that is not the case. The Thunderbolt 5 Dual 10GbE Network Dock comes with 90W power supply but will not charge or power your laptop so you are required to have another connection to your laptop just for power thus not so much of a usable dock.

Incredible Network Speed, but No Power Delivery for MacBooks
This dock is an incredibly powerful device for building a high-speed home network. However, please note that it does not support Power Delivery to charge Apple Silicon MacBooks. You will still need to connect your official Apple charger to keep your laptop powered.

Returning. OWC Thunderbolt Pro dock works flawlessly. This unit... not so much.
I SO wanted this to work. I bought an OWC Thunderbolt Pro dock (10GbE networking) for a Dell laptop that runs 24/7. It has Thunderbolt 4. The Dell gave an error about power coming from the Thunderbolt port on every boot. I moved the dock to an ASUS Zenbook with Thunderbolt 4. I am currently using the OWC Thunderbolt Pro dock on the ASUS with zero issues. If the OWC Thunbderbolt 4 Dual 10GbE dock worked on the ASUS, I would buy another one for the Dell. The fact that is does NOT provide power is PERFECT for the Dell!!! I used the Thunderbolt 5 cable that came with the dock.. On first boot, the blue light came on indicating connectivity, but it was not recognized by my laptop. I rebooted sever times with the same result. Finally, I unplugged and plugged the cable after logging into Windows. The laptop beeped and the dock was recognized. All devices plugged into it were properly recognized. This procedure (with the cable) had to done on every boot to get the dock to be recognized. My OWC Thunderbolt Pro is recognized on every boot. When the laptop was shut down. The USB devices powered off. The Thunderbolt devices stayed on. On my Thunderbolt Pro dock, all devices power down when the laptop powers down. The blue light stayed on as long as the Thunderbolt cable was plugged into the laptop. Only when unplugging the cable from the laptop did the light turn white. My Thundebolt Pro dock turn white when the laptop powers down. It turns blue when the laptop is powered on. The port configuration on the new dock would have future proofed my setup. I am sticking with the old OWC Thunderbolt Pro dock. It has 10GbE networking, so it won't be obsolete anytime soon.

Per OWC, this will not charge your laptop (by design)!
This dock will not power/charge the host computer connected to it. According to the owners support manual on their website, this is by design. WHAT? So now I have to use the power adaptor that came with the laptop AND the TB5 cable from the laptop to the dock. I'm still waiting on my TB5-compatible laptop to arrive (tomorrow) so I'm not able to test the 10GbE networking but everything else seems to be working just fine. I'll update this review once I've had a chance to test it more thoroughly but the no-charging-the-host issue seems ridiculous to me.

DOES NOT CHARGE YOUR MAC
A lot of the product photos show the thunderbolt cable connected to a MacBook Pro. Wonderful! A single connector for everything! That is the promise of thunderbolt. You can connect your monitor, network, devices, and charge your computer all with one cable!! WRONG. This "dock" does not charge your computer. When do you have a powered dock that does NOT charge your computer? HUGE FAIL!!

Von Anfang an defekt
War bereits bei Lieferung defekt, die Lade Funktion für den Laptop mit 120 oder 140 W ging nicht, danach sind dann noch alle anderen Sonderboard fünf Anschlüsse also drei für die Monitore ausgefallen. Das Ding ist auch sehr heiß geworden. War so absehbar, dass die ausfallen nun warten wir, was der Lieferant dazu sagt.
