Sylvania SHTIB1046-BT 2.1 Bluetooth Home/Computer Speaker System (Renewed)

I bought this system years ago from Big Lots and loved it. It has a Huge SubWoofer that provides a lot of bass. Great for movies and games and music. the small speakers provide enough sound so that I used this for my computer for all functions. The only downside is the short audio cord. I didn't notice it as a problem on my computer as everything is in close quarters, but I moved it to my TV and I had to get a longer cord and it's fine. There is a problem in that the two speakers feed into one cable input so if one cord gets a short, you'd have to splice a new section to replace it. also, my old system the input got lose so that it didn't play stereo from the speakers and there is no way to replace the cord without cutting it from the speakers. But that hasn't happened to my new set yet, so I'll keep an eye on that for future reference. I liked this speaker set so much i bought it again so there is that. It says this new version has bluetooth capability but i don't need that and as such have not tested it. So sorry for the lack of info on that. i like that I can control the bass and treble independently as well as volume. My BF DOESN'T like the lighted blue ring. It doesn't bother me but when watching a show in the dark, he turns it sideways cause you do have this bright blue thing shining right at your face if you have it facing forward as intended. It'd be nice if there were a way to turn the light off and on separately. Edit to Add. So the first system I bought has finally decided it doesn't like the connection somewhere inside and the bass speaker just refuses to make noise anymore. The two side speakers still work, but as ther is a short in one of them, just minor vibrations can make the sound cut in and out. The newer one I have bought is still working well. I don't understand where in the older unit the problem is, because it is not like it gets moved around much at all. maybe just age or rust? I dunno. When it works, it has the best sound, but if anything goes wrong, because all of the components are directly from the base speaker, there is no way to run it without it or to figure out where the problem is. Perhaps one day I'll take it apart and see if there is only a connection issue or rust or something. It's a shame that this is no longer available. Despite the short life of the bass speaker, the quality of the sound is good enough that I would just buy a replacement and experiment on the broken one.

Hey - we tried expensive "sound bars" etc. with our TV.. They weren't cutting it - so I thought - "Let's go a different route.." We bought this set up.. The bass response is impressive - the sound quality in general is great.. and the price?? Well you do the math!
