Kabcon tablet stand + Fintie bluetooth type cover = portable surface desktop
This review is about 2 products together: KABCON Quality Tablet Stand,Adjustable Foldable Eye-Level Aluminum Solid Up to 15-in Tablets Holder for Microsoft Surface Series Tablets,iPad Series,Samsung Galaxy Tabs,Amazon Kindle Fire,Etc.Silver And Fintie Microsoft Surface Pro Type Cover, Ultra-Slim Portable Wireless Bluetooth Keyboard with Trackpad and Built-in Rechargeable Battery, Gray I have had both of these products for about 2 weeks. I have a Surface Pro 3 with an aging pro 4 type cover. I've really liked the device, but I was considering getting a new 2-in-1 device with a larger screen because I wanted to keep 2-in-1 convertibility but the surface pro screen was proving small in long uses of laptop mode. Plus, the ergonomics of long-term laptop use were not good for me. I have a docking station and monitor at home, which work great, but I also travel a lot, and laptop mode all the time is taking a toll. But I arrived at this solution, and I am very glad I did! Essentially, I have a portable desktop setup. The Kabcon tablet stand holds the surface pro up at a better ergonomic level, while the Fintie type cover, being bluetooth, stays on the table. The Surface pro is closer to my eyes, and my head and back are not so tilted! Plus, the stand is great for reading in tablet mode, and - this is the unexpected plus - I can change the orientation of the surface pro in the stand, and still keep desktop functionality. With this, I am able to keep the oem keyboard layout and compactness for travel (it replaces the oem keyboard physically) - the only significant added weight is the tablet stand. If you added in a dock, it would be a pretty good portable desktop experience. So, for about $80 for these products together, my Surface Pro 3 has come back to life for me. Now, the particulars about the Kabcon stand: The Kabcon tablet stand feels very sturdy and well-made. My Surface Pro 3 sits in the tablet holder with plenty of room to spare. There are appropriate rubber tabs to seat the tablet, and nothing is even close to gripping it - it's just seated in place by its own weight. As other reviewers have noted, the stand doesn't open or close too easily! On the desk with the tablet placed, you can rotate the legs with some effort and two hands. But you can't rotate the part that holds the tablet - you'd need to take the tablet off and do the adjustment with both hands, and then replace the tablet. So, it's not got the flexibility of the Surface Studio. If you wanted to go back and forth between a planar, drawing orientation and a more vertical viewing mode, like the Studio does effortlessly, I would not recommend this stand. It seems meant to be in pretty much one position at the beginning of your use, which is how I use it. The stand's stability is good. When I open the legs to the 90 degree vertical, and set the holder at the same vertical, I can load the Surface Pro 3 and everything is stable. But if I tilt the holder back somewhat to have a decent viewing angle, the stand loses it's stability and will fall over backward - I'd need to lower the legs. So, you may not get all the vertical height from the legs. Otherwise, it seems well made and sturdy, I would buy it again.

Sturdy and Adjustable Tablet Stand
This tablet stand is well-made, sturdy, and very easy to adjust. It holds my device securely and folds up nicely for storage or travel. The adjustable angles make it comfortable for watching videos, reading, or working. Great quality and very practical. Highly recommended!

Beautiful and incredibly sturdy!
This stand is incredibly strong and sturdy. Your iPad (or just about any tablet) will be sitting like a king or queen on a throne with this. You can tell as you unpack it and feel the weight that you bought yourself a very secure stand. The flex points are very tight and it takes some effort to unfold it and set the angle of view how you want it to be. This is exactly what you want, as any type of flimsiness is going to cause you grief eventually. Believe me, your tablet is going to feel very safe and secure while sitting in this. My iPad in the pictures has an otterBox Symmetry case, and it fits just fine in this stand. It has rubber pads everywhere any contact with the metal occurs, and the rubber pads on the base allows for no movement at all. It’s not going to slide off any flat surface. On top of all this incredible sturdiness, it is a downright beautiful stand. This is an excellent purchase and I highly recommend this to anyone who wants a solid stand to charge your tablet, or just to show it off on a desk. I am even able to type with my iPad parked in this stand, so there’s that too. Go get you one!

Excellent, light-weight, heavy-duty, highly portable stand! A must have for people on the move!
I just got this little beauty in the mail yesterday, and I already couldn’t be more pleased with my purchase! It is surprisingly light-yet-heavy-duty, VERY stable, and a great addition to my iPad accessories (I have the 11 inch iPad Pro). The stand folds nearly flat to a height of less than an inch, and the base’s footprint when in use is not much bigger than my Samsung Note. I have used it while sitting in my office chair (reclined with feet up), on my sofa, and in bed. While not perfectly stable in those locations, it is FAR superior to just holding the iPad or using the case stand, as I can raise the height, adjust the angle, and my hands don’t get tired from holding it. The stability is great if you just use a small amount of care, and I can already tell that this device is going to drastically increase the amount of time I spend using my iPad in these locations. Based on what I saw of the other stand options out there, this one is the best if you plan on moving around with your stand a lot. As I said before, it’s light & folds into a small size that would easily fit in a small backpack or purse. The footprint of the base is big enough to provide sufficient stability everywhere I’ve used it so far, and the stiffness of the joints ensure that it won’t accidentally tip too far forward or back when using the iPad. I got mine to help when I draw, and so far the stability seems well-suited to that task, too. As a bit of an aside (and pro-tip), I’ve paired mine with a Logitech K480 Multi-Device Bluetooth keyboard, and now I feel like I have a mini-computer setup (that’s how I’m writing this review). I STRONGLY recommend this little stand! Don’t waste your time looking somewhere else!

Very sturdy base
I purchased this because I recently got a 10" Galaxy Tab S5e and there aren't any decent cases/covers that allow me to stand the table vertically. This stand allows me to prop up my S5e vertically and I have no worries about it falling over. The base is wide and rather heavy for it's size, but that is because it is made of solid aluminum (NO flimsy plastic happy-meal parts). The hinges are stiff but not so much that you need to be a superhero to move them. But definitely stiff enough that you are confident they will stay in position. The stand does not lock the tablet in place, however, so you won't want to tilt your tablet forward (and I'm not sure why I would want to, so I don't really care. YMMV). The one drawback is that while there is room to accommodate just about any existing tablet, there may not be enough room to accommodate a tablet in it's protective case. I have a rather thin and flimsy case for my S5e, which is about as thin as they make a table, and when I open the case and fold the lid to the back, I can just barely squeeze the bottom of the tablet into the U-channel on the bottom of the holder. To put our Galaxy Tab S2 in it, we have to take it out of the case. If we were going to leave it on a table or desk with the tablet in it most of the time, that probably wouldn't be a problem, but you get a tablet to be portable, and you buy a portable stand to simply set it up and drop the tablet in place. I wouldn't want to have to take my tablet out of the case everywhere I went where I wanted to set it up. Having said that, I still give it four stars (and would like to give it four and a half), because it just oozes sturdiness. It has silicone pads on the bottom to keep it from sliding and silicone covering on the U-channel that the tablet sits in so that it doesn't scratch the tablet but still grips it quite well. The alternative is to buy a cover/case that will allow me to rotate or stand the tablet in the vertical orientation, but there aren't any available yet for the S5e, and when they do become available, I expect them to cost just as much as this stand.

Even after 4 years, still sturdy and functional
I got this stand in 2020, and it’s still sturdy and intact in a couple of ways: 1) The hinges do not give in to moderate pressures & 2) All the parts of this stand (Holding frame, folding pole, and base) have not worn out. I’m an illustrator, so I use my iPad almost daily for long hours. During work, I need my iPad to be held snd stay “still” at the right elevation and at the right angle for me even when I press it down with Apple Pencil and slight-but-inevitable body weight as I lean. This stand has not failed me once for 4 years in that regard. It’s a bit heavy, but that is exactly what’s great about this stand versus may other options. The weight of this stand allows it to hold up its folded shape at your convenience without giving into any unintended pressure. After 4 years of satisfaction as a customer, I’d say the price is well worth it because this stand guarantees quality and longevity. One thing to note is that this will tip easier if set on not so stable/flat surface. But that’s not a big deal at all for my use.

Sturdy, adjustable, great solution.
This is a very sturdy stand. Needed something that raised a 13” iPad Air up higher and this has been a good solution. Have a smaller Lamical stand which is fine for a smaller tablet, but not adjustable when it comes to height. I would definitely recommend the Kabcon stand.

Perfect for my Needs
I bought this for a specific purpose, but I think it would be good for others as well. I have a 12.9" iPad pro, so a reasonably large tablet, that I want to pair with my MacBook Pro as a 2nd monitor. I bought a different stand which I returned, and took a chance on this one. WHen I am on the road, I use my MacBook sitting on a desk or table. When I am at home, the Macbook sits on top of a nice "Rain Design M Stand" which lifts the macbook up in the air by 3-6 inches (its on an angle). This Kabcon tablet stand allows me to easily mach the height of the tablet with the screen on the macbook, either very close to the desk, or 6" up in the air. The joints on the stand seem tight enough that you could use the tablet as a tablet (touch screen), but I use it mainly to make the tablet a PC display or a TV-like vide device. The Kabcon stand is strong and sturdy, but it folds up to smaller than 7x7x2, so i can put it into my backpack without it taking up much space like the other tables stand I returned. The listing says its made of aluminum, but as one reviewer noted, the 2 pillars that connect the base plate with the tablet plate are plastic on the outside if not all plastic.. I feel like its a benefit that reduces the weight, and I cannot see any condition under which these would break. When its in my backpack, the plastic parts are totally covered by the aluminum plates. When I am using it, the Tablet is far more delicate than the stand. So, I dont fell I have been deceived, but make sure you know this f it matters to you. I dont use a case on my iPad, but I think this would accommodate most cases. I think this will outlast my iPad. OK, so what would make it 6-Stars? Maybe a cloth bag that would slip around it to protect it while in my backpack (or protect other items from the aluminum. What would I change if I could? I'd like to have it in Space Grey to match my iPad, but the silver color is really nice. Also, the rubber Caps that sit on the bent metal that holds the Tablet up can slip off while you are carrying it around. An extra set of those would be a nice touch. I cover it with the light plastic bags that it was covered in shipping, and remember to look for those caps anytime I take it out of my backpack.

Excellent design and quality materials
In what often feels like a sea of cheap, disposable junk, this device is a shining example of good design, great materials and excellent build quality. The people who made this stand clearly were NOT cutting corners to reduce cost. It's a simple device and it does exactly what I want it to do. My Surface Pro sits securely on the stand, and the stand raises the video camera to eye level, making my video conferences much more effective when I work remotely. Once I have adjusted the stand to the position I want, it remains firmly in place. I expect to use this for many years with no trouble. Outstanding value for money. Strongly recommended.

Good for online chat
Bought it for my wife to use with her 12.9” iPad Pro and it does hold it well in either landscape or portrait position. She wanted her iPad to be up a little higher in order to have the camera view for online connecting to be in a less unflattering position. Although the stand does not raise the iPad significantly she can set it on a stable book or box to make it higher - therefore, she says it works very well for her needs and is an affordable option. The Kabcon does not interfere with the iPad cord so she can leave it plugged in no matter how she uses the stand. We looked at a LOT of stands and read reviews, she was concerned that it would not work well because the iPad needs to be in a very upright position (not leaning back) and this Kabcon stand is very stable so she can have her iPad sitting almost straight upright and it will not be in danger of falling over. If she uses the Kabcon with her iPad in landscape position she does not have to remove the iPad from the case but her case is quite thick so she does have to remove it if she uses it in the upright (portrait) position. Her case is not only thick on the one side but it is also a rather heavy case and the Kabcon can hold it and the iPad with ease and without becoming unstable. It arrived in a secure box, well packaged, and comes in its own little carrying case, too. It folds up into the case making it convenient for travellers. Hope this review helps with your decision-making.
