Discription states a max wire size of 10awg but even if i use copper 10awg is only rated for 40 amps. will this fit a 6awg wire so i can use aluminum?

I do not see where your reading "10 awg. a 50 amp cord is a 100% rating. the NEC (electric Code) allows any product to be only usable at 80% or 40 amps for continues use. Yes you can use aluminum # 6 if the lugs are rated CUAL and you follow the rules for aluminum wire. When we install these products we only use copper wire.

What is female connector?

A female connector is on the cord/cable end that has openings for the male part to go up into it. Male end has the prongs that go up into the female plug.
