I like 243 over 242 and it works well in many applications where not exposed to long term heat. It’s important to shake the crap out of it before each use. Pretty simple to use put a dab on the threads and install. Always seems to keep the screws in place and is versatile. Color is blue and doesn’t leak.

I have used loctite for many years. It is my go to when mounting scope bases, rings and really anything you don’t want to jar loose. This is the newer 243 which is supposed to work much better if there is any oil present. It is not easy to find in the box stores or auto parts stores. Amazon had it readily available and at the best price. I always give it 24 hours drying time and it has proven to be very durable with extended use. It is the famous blue color and same consistency as the 242. 5🌟’s

I stopped at five local stores, NAPA, Walmart, Autozone, tractor supply, and Home depot, this was the only place to get it. Drove to Lubec, ME; dirt, highways, washboard, and 70mph with crosswinds. Checked the bolts, my roof rack has had no issues. Functions as designed.
