Corazón

I have been a fan of Yesika's work for a while now and I was so excited to finally receive my own physical copy of Corazón. Yesika's work is highly personal and incredibly honest. She speaks about her trauma and heartbreaks in a way that resonates so strongly, it often brings me to tears. I have recommended this book to many of my friends and all of them felt the same way after reading it. Highly recommend buying Corazón as a gift to self. It pulled me through some dark days as it made me feel encouraged and empowered.

Yesika’s book was hard to get through, but I kept going back. It wasn’t hard to get through because of the writing, which was eloquent and strong; or because of content, which was honest and real... it was hard to get through because never in my life hasn’t a poetry book reached into my heart this way. I felt vulnerable and understood. Each page was heart wrenching and healing at once. She was a regular woman writing about regular woman things, things that happen to us that we never talk about. Thank you Yesika, for your words & your vulnerability. I healed so much reading your book.

I’ve been following Yesikas journey as an artist and was beyond excited when she announced the release of Corazón. Just the cover alone you he’s my heart deep down inside. I got it as a graduation gift for my best friend but I read it before I gave it to her lol but trust me I will be buying my own copy to be able to read over and over again AND with Yesikas announcement of her next one to follow I’m going to love building up her collection on my book shelf. Thanks for your gift as a writer Yesika! Keep at it boo!!

I’m absolutely disgusted by the horrible reviews this book has gotten. They all seem to be from trolls since none of them actually explain other than insult and berate. This book is wonderful and it spoke to me. The poetry is very relatable to someone like myself. If you truly have nothing good to say then don’t bother spewing your hate as a review on someone’s hard work.

This is not a book, this is a medicine. It held me, soothed me, fed me, and nurtured me back to life. It saved a part of me that was dying and revived it. Yesika is an amazing author and creator. I didn’t know how I could have survived months of darkness if not for her words.

I’ve been following yesika for quite awhile and was ecstatic when Coraźon was released. I purchased the book on a preorder and waited patiently for it to arrive. This book and her work are strong testaments for those of us who grew up as the children of immigrants and in my case, immigrants from Central America. Her writing is beautiful and heartfelt and I can’t wait to see what else Yesika brings to the table

Corazón is a rich, moving and stunning collection of personal poems about love, loss, and finding oneself. I cannot recommend it enough.

Corazón is such an amazing and important book for our generation. Not only does is celebrate self love but it brings out so many relatable emotions for people who have struggled with self love and the love of another. I reccomend this book 100%, especially while going through a hard time because the resilience of the author at the end of the book gives hope and promise to a brighter tomorrow for the reader! I love the work of Yesika Salgado and cannot wait for her next book!

You can tell this is poetry written by someone without any formal writing education/mentorship (I may be mistaken but I did not find any credentials when I researched). However, despite the evident amateur style of the poems, they clearly come from true and emotional experiences. As a fellow Latina I appreciated this book and it definitely had some gems. I am not sure I will be purchasing the next books, but I am not a fan of heartbreak/romantic poetry, so perhaps the next books will be more up my alley.

This book had me in my feelings. It resonates so much with me. Such an amazing writer, so gifted.

It is an inspiring, magical book written by the great Yesika Salgado. I almost felt like I could touch her heart, this book is incredibly honest. Can't wait for her to publish her new work!

This book was truly beautiful, soft and honest.I loved so many of the poems, they were so wonderfully written. I urge everyone to read this book (plus the cover is stunning).
