I don't know of any other chalk line that leaves the nice thick line and lasts longer than the line. This is the line that we always use no matter what crew I have worked for. The string is strong, thick, and easily filled. Don't forget your pre-snap! There's not much to say when there is no competitor to snap walls and to of steps with.

I work in roofing and I use it to mark , I used it for years because they last a long time and they mark very well , the measuring thread is thicker than others .

I have to agree with others............... This chalk box is simple as can be. It could stand to be a little smaller in diameter, but I'm getting use to it. It's thin enough that it drops into the tool pouch with ease. It's light enough that I forget it's in the tool pouch. The handle locks in 4 different holes, so that I can pull the line tight. The line itself is a little on the thick side, but works. Personally, I like a little thinner line for a crisper chalk mark. I can always change the line. Changing the line would make this chalk box about perfect. By the way, I use a chalk box all day long, for over 35 years. I've tried many brands. The one chalk box I've settled on for years, is now discontinued. I've been trying to find another decent chalk box. I believe this is the one. Don't let the little price tag fool you. I like this one much better than some of the $25.00 ones I've been trying out.

The hole on the end cap that the string goes thru is to large. This causes a lot of chalk to come out when pulling the string out and is kinda messy. I do like the fact that it's not made in China though.

I have one that last 5 year And I couldn't find it in Canada Thanks amazon for putting this online. Best chack ever It won't brake on you Because it doesn't have gears like other brands And the cotton line Can hold the powder great you can mark more then 3 line in one shot. The tip need to be upgraded But you can live with that.

chalk line he’s ever had. Has a think cord which makes for very visible lines. The only down fall in the first one e bought was the reel handle broke. It was almost -35 here in Canada that day so that could be why. I did purchase 3 more though because my husband liked it so much. Great product. We highly recommend it.
