This is a great solid and efficient pan. Nothing stick to it, it is ceramic and way better than the past none stick stuff. The bottom of the pan (part that touch the burner) is 9" diameter. It works super well with my 8.75" induction plate. I have used it with a quite lesser quality induction plate that only had a 5" element. The pan still did very well, it distributed the heat efficiently. As a ceramic pan, it is super easy to clean. It is the easiest pan to clean, even compared to another ceramic pan that I have from another brand! Of course, you need to be carefull to avoid scratches, I only use silicone spatulas. That said, it won't scratch easily from just moving it around. It is an 11" pan but it as effective if not more effective than a typical 12" or even 13" pan, thanks to it edges being at a lesser angle. For what you paid and get, it is phenomenal, great value! If you are looking for a lit, you can buy one from swissdiamond, it is a perfect fit.

WOW this pan has out performed my utmost expectations. It is pricey but worth every penny! it is rather large, but it actually saves me on dishes do to the fact I can cook multiple items at once in it, and at different temperatures, just by moving the heat left or right, This thing is a dream on a gas stove. It's heavy and distributes heat very well. You can burn bacon on high, grill a steak, fish, everything just wipes out, beef tallow as a cooking medium, or butter will not build up a residue, a couple drops of dish soap and a couple quick swipes with a scrub brush is more then enough. most of the time I just wipe it out with a paper towel and ready to go. I've used steel forks and spoons while it's at max heat and not scratch at all. If I need to heat up spaghetti, or some other sauce, I don't bother getting out a sauce pan, this thing retains so much and has so much surface, I just take out what I'm done cooking and dump the sauce in the pan, and it's ready in about 1 or 2 minutes. I really didn't know there were pans this good out there.

Truly disappointed. Spent hours researching which pan to purchase as I am an avid cook. Have owned since early October, cautiously maintained and never used on high heat and the non-stick properties is totally and utterly gone. What a disappointment.

My FAVORITE pan. Stainless isn't toxic which is very important in our home. Not only are these pans beautiful but they cook evenly and are non stick when you heat them properly prior to cooking.

Bummer. We did a ton of research to find non-stick pans that were free from chemicals. These ceramic frying pans seemed to have great reviews, and for the high cost we thought they would be a great option for years. The first week the pan worked great, eggs sliding on and off super easily. After two weeks, things started to stick more and more. Attached a pic of the last time I tried to make scrambled eggs on it. This was after coating the pan with oil, and only having carefully hand washed it while owning it. Never using metal utensils, etc. What a disappointment for such a high price tag. On the positive, the pan does look and feel high quality. I just don’t know what I could have done differently to maintain its nonstick properties.

Has a really nice heavy quality feel. The upright sides make it seem smaller than comparable sized pans. At this price it should come with a lid!! But the most important part of the review- it truly is non stick! I'm impressed. Very. I made an omelette with no oil. Salmon, skin down! No oil. It's been about a month, wanted to get lots of use before reviewing. Now I want the other sizes. Really glad I got this pan.

Just received my Alva skillet yesterday and was so excited because I could not wait to use it. I got the chance this morning when fixing my husband his breakfast of sausage, egg and cheese breakfast sandwich. Used medium heat as per instructions and it cooked everything beautifully. This will be my go too skillet for everything. I LOVE this skillet.

A brilliant non stick non toxic pan

An expert on microbiology recommended this product. It works like a Teflon pan, but without the associated health risks. It is more expensive than Teflon pans, though.

Damaged

I am editing this review as I have just noticed a deep chip in the “coating” but it seems to go deeper than just the coating. I have babied this pan. Never shocking it, only using silicon utensils, never rough cleaning utentsils and only by hand. So I have no clue what else could be done to preserve its condition. Very disappointed since I expected much more from Alva. The reputation of this pan speaks for itself. It is excellent quality. And an even better cooking experience. Mine arrived in Canada within 3 days, completely undamaged. Do it!

Very well made, great size for all purpose cooking, and the non-stick is brilliant. I am taking care to not overheat the pan as instructed, and to let it cool down before rinsing under water. It sears well, even on medium heat. One month on, it still looks brand new.
