Happy kitties-was worth the effort.Happy kitties-was worth the effort. This was a Saturday project that my handyman hubby and I took on. I won't lie it was a logistic nightmare BUT most of that was our desired location. Which entailed tree trimming and catio modifications. Building it off site (garage) and carrying it to the location on the back side of the house was challenging though the catio is light it is awkward to transport, lift into position and attach to the house. The assembly instructions and all the bits & bobs were basically clear and with patience and my non-skilled labor it went together smoothly. We did weatherproof with caulking and covered some exposed screw holes. Yeti and Wolfie though timid to check out their new digs,within a few hours they settled in and have chosen a favorite ledge of there own. We purchased some indoor/outdoor low pile carpet to make it more cozy and comfortable. I being the wanna be interior designer will likely add more touches. Other more practical items- the package arrived in perfect condition, all parts were well marked and securely wrapped. It seems sturdy and though may not last a cats lifetime it will give them a fabulous feline hangout for some time. The screen is a very fine mesh so insects shouldn't be a problem and the fact it is off the ground will likely prolong its duration and keep bigger non welcome backyard critters from entry. The little doors are handy and have secure latches to prevent accidental openings. The tools needed were a Phillips screwdriver-note we used impact screwdriver- and maybe a wrench for the bolt nuts. I can happily recommend this product.

This is a great catio! My cat, Mischief, is huge, weighs 20 lbs, and has been known to launch himself at window screens if there's a bug or lizard to chase. That made me concerned about this purchase. I need not have worried - the screen they use is a sturdy metal that I'm not sure he could get his claws into to climb, but if he does, I doubt it will even show a mark. The structure is also very sturdy. He's enjoying jumping from platform to platform and there's no wobble anywhere. The screen mesh is small enough to keep bugs out, so I'm enjoying having the window open and getting a breeze inside now. I couldn't do that before because Mischief would have easily knocked out a normal window screen. I had a handyman come to install the catio because I'm not at all skilled, and he was pleased at how easily it all went together. Everything was cut and drilled as expected. I couldn't be happier with this purchase! (And Mischief is very happy, too!) One thing I'll be adding is a little weather stripping around the catio doors. I live in Florida and the small gaps around the door edges would let our prevalent small lizards and bugs in. However, that's an easy thing for me to add. In the photos, you'll see my temporary paper weatherstripping where the gaps are. As you can see, the gaps are not very big and will be easy to block if you also live in a bug-prone area.

I’ve only had the Catio for a few weeks, so my review is not based on long term use. The product arrived about a week after ordering in a very heavy and flat packed - IKEA-style box. There are Lots of parts & pieces to put together and the instructions are not the best, but my husband was able to build it himself in about an hour and a half. If you are not a handy person, you will need help building this. It feels sturdy so far , but I am a little worried about how the wood will hold up outside in the elements long term. Admittedly, we are using it a little differently than what it was designed for. We did not need to use the elevated support anchors for the bottom because our catio sits directly on the ground & our cats enter at sidewalk level through our basement window. We secured the catio against the house and the window remains open most of the time. The ability to attach the structure to the house and the nice secure screens have been great. The cats can sunbathe as they please without insects getting in. The 4 wood perches feel slightly rough so I added padding to them. I have one very large cat and one average sized cat and they both seem happy with the shelves. It does not take up a lot of space in my yard. I plan to update my review if I run into issues down the road. My 1st month of owning impression is that it seems safe, sturdy, is a decent price & good size , cats like it and does the job I wanted.

my cats love it that’s all their daddy needs to know. It looks great on the outside and inside, easy to install and keeps my cats out of the house long enough to clean up their messes. I very much recommend this. Just remember…if you have cats, your only a guest in their house and this addition is worthy of them.

Although the box was badly damaged, the cateo was not. I did report this to Amazon and was able to send pictures and communicate with the persons involved. The cateo took about 3 hours for me and my son to assemble. Then another hour to put it on my house. This is because my window was very tall and had a huge metal frame around it. It barely fit but we were able to attach it. The cateo is very sturdy and well made. The parts are numbered and the hardware is separated. I have 5 cats and they all seem to like it since they are now indoor cats. I live in the Midwest so when it's cool out I wait until the afternoon sun comes out to open the window. My cats are happy with the product and so am I.
