Simple and easy to carry
This is a good size to carry with my little WC set. I have a larger version of the Koi and this pad and an additional pencil are enough for a good long trip up to the woods or whatever. Several days.I am not crazy about the texture of the paper as it is more for a larger size. If I keep the washes light and do not paint from edge to edge the curling is easily remedied by putting the pad under some heavy cider block or booksI find it very difficult to find this size pad where the makers took into consideration a painter needs to shrink everything down in size and the surface can become distracting. However is is light and useful and that is always a plus. Good for use with the inspiration from Urban Sketching.Happy Art making

Excellent watercolor paper
Very nice paper. Thick.

Pages stuck
Great watercolor paper. My only complaint is that the pages were stuck together when i received it. Most of them, you could tear apart, but some ripped when trying to separate the pages

Very good paper
This is great paper. It takes a was very well and pigments glow on it. The only drawback is that the paper will buckle under a heavy wash; hence four stars. However, this is not surprising - it's not reasonable to expect unstretched paper to remain flat with a heavy wash. However, this product is sold as a block, so it's implied use is to take washes. It will do so if the washes are light and take up less than about a quarter of the page. If you try to do a wash over more surface, the paper will buckle and pigments wil pool. I will keep purchasing this paper but will stretch individual sheets if I plan to do large washes

Not sure how to rate this
To start, I love the Pro Art 140 lb watercolour paper for my copic marker work. I love the texture and everything about it. I've been using it for months now. However, I bought 4 or 5 9x12 pads from Amazon and they are the worst!! The pads come sealed on all four edges, I believe to stop buckling when using paint, which I thought was rather neat and never had a problem with before. However, all the pads I bought from Amazon seem to be sealed poorly, because the paper rips and tears when I'm trying to separate - again, not a problem I had from the pads I bought at my local art store. I have to separate the pages with a knife, and it leaves the edges very messy and unattractive.I'm not sure if Amazon got a bad batch or what but the fact that I never had this problem before, and ALL the pads I bought from Amazon have been like this... I would suggest it's worth the extra money to buy them locally. The paper quality is great and I love it, but... the difficulty separating papers is not worth the hassle.

Watercolor Paper Block
Pro Art 9-Inch by 12-Inch Watercolor Paper Block 140.When watercolor painting outside (in art circles referred to as "paint en plein air") a Watercolor Block allows you the opportunity to paint without paper stretched on a drawing board. This block also has the advantage of 12 sheets of acid free, heavy paper, the equivalent of carrying twelve drawing boards with you. Very convenient. You can paint with the block on your lap or on any solid surface while standing. When completed, simply peal off the painting and you have a new sheet ready for use.The paper takes washes and detail painting, with no migration found when using some cheaper papers, resulting in clearly defined edges. This economical paper also is available on Amazon.com in 5 x 7-inch, 7 x 10-inch and 12 x 16-inch blocks.

Need an engineering degree...
The glued edges are serious business. There is a corner of the pad that is about an inch (on the 5 x 7 pad) that is not glued so you can slide a razor up under the side to slice through the glue to get the paper out. But let me tell you, I used a brand new blade and the paper actually got sliced, too. The paper is thick, and the blade was new, so the blade slid right through part of the edges of the first few sheets and wrecked them. That's a real disappointment. Sure I can trim the edges, but I wanted 5 x 7 for a reason. The paper itself has a nice surface, with a "tooth" to it. It is absorbent, BUT not for scrubbing or repeated dampening. For my purposes, using Micron pens and gel pens to do Zentangles, it is a great surface. I'm just really disappointed it is so hard to get the paper out. Knowing this, I would not buy it again.

Good quality paper, Standard postcard size.
I liked it, the paper is good quality for watercolour. I assumed it would have the postcard print on the back, like the box where the stamp goes, and lines for writing and space for addressing. but it doesn't, it's blank on both sides. which is ok, but I didn't think about that and just assumed it would have that.

papel promedio

One Star
I love the format, but this paper absorbs the water so quickly it's a race to blend the watercolours...

Eh, it's ok
While the paper is an ok quality, to use it i had to find a way to to get each peice seperated. The whole pad of paper was glued together on all 4 sides.
