Does oil need to added to this chocolate to allow it to flow smoothly through a chocolate fountain?

No, nothing needs to be added. It flows smoothly as is.

How many people will a 4-lb bag serve? We are hosting a party with 100 guests.

One bag should feed about 20 people. For a group of 100, we recommend 10-12 lbs of chocolate.

Is this chocolate good for making candy?or will it be to thin?

It is thin when melted but get very hard once it cools down. I've only used it in the fountain so I'm not real sure about its candy making properties.

How much will 4 lbs of this chocolate generally serve?

I have a triple level fountain which requires a minimum of 6 pounds of chocolate so I put a bag and a half into it fro the on-sel. About half-way thru the night, I need to put the other 1/2 of the bag. At the end of the night (6 hours later), there would be about 3-4 lbs of melted chocolate on the fountain. I typically have 30 people at my party.

Just follow the directions and microwave in the bag or use a double boiler to heat before pouring into the fountain. We have a residential size chocolate fountain - so 2 bags are needed. Flows smoothly and the taste is waaaaaaaay better than store bought chocolates! Don't waste your time and money thinking you will get great results with the chocolates in the grocery store: you will not! Easy, fun and sweet party treat

This was easy to use (follow the directions and take your time with the microwave) and very popular at my chocolate fondue birthday party. One bag didn't seem to make the fountain look full enough, so I added the second one. People really enjoyed "playing" with their food and seeing how they could change the flow of the fountain. We borrowed the fountain from a friend, so I added oil to the chocolate as her fountain's manual directed. If it were my own fountain, I probably would have experimented and tried it without the oil. Lots and lots of leftovers, which I ended up just throwing away. But, I don't think you do chocolate on a budget. The flavor was a little sweet for my taste (as mentioned by other reviewers), but it was a nice mix with the various fondue pots we had going.

First thing. Dont poor the whole bag into the fountain only use as much as you need. Great taste. No need for oil. Massive big bag. Quite expensive but use sparingly. Ease to use. Mine didn't last long as I ended up using whole bag. Great smooth texture of choclate very silky. Great for dipping strawberries
