An absolutely amazing mini filter with the best filtering capacity! Definitely worth the money
Got it delivered much before the expected delivery date. Product is fantastic. The seller sent it well packaged. I am using the filter. The flow was not there at the first time I tried sucking water through it. Just gave a min for the fibers inside to soak, and then it was a normal flow. Felt like drinking water from a wide straw. Its definitely effective. I am going to test the filter to purify muddy dirty water soon and will update on how well the filter purified it. Few people here complained that it wont filter out the viruses and its only 0.1 micron filter. well, Viruses are pretty rare in the water that you drink everyday. roadside hotels, certain places where the source of water is suspicious, this filter is more than sufficient to guarantee that u will be safe drinking that water. Unless u r drinking water from roadside drainage or some extremely dirty stagnant water, u don't really need a filter which can remove the viruses. If u are still concerned about the viruses, u can order water purifying pills available on amazon. the seller is Hind-Pharma and their tablets are absolutely amazing. Use the sawyer mini, remove all the bacteria and other nasty stuff from the water, drop a tablet in the water, wait for a while for it to work and drink the water. Its an absolute must for everyday use, during travelling, etc. One might feel awkward using it in India as people will definitely stare at u when u are using it, but hey, I don't care. My health is imp to me and clean water is must. I don't wanna be sick just because I drank some supposedly clean water. Its in my bugout backpack now. Ill order another to carry with me for everyday use

I found my perfect, permanent, traveling water system.
See all the reviews and videos online and you'll know that this is the best filter for all kinds of bugs in your water (except viruses). Sawyer does make a 0.02 micron filter for them pesky viruses too - this one is.0.1 micron, for everything except viruses. Anyway, this is the lightest, smallest effective filter and its flow was fast after my third squeeze through it (the first couple of squeezes are slightly slower until the fibers get fully saturated with water). And after some more use, the flow gets even faster. Yes, it is much slower in a gravity set-up, but use the Sawyer Squeeze for that (instead of the Mini). Flow looks to be about the same rate as when you pee really hard ;) Can fill up a liter in about a minute, maybe 1.5 minute. And you can fit this directly onto most popular one liter bottles, so if you don't like the water pouch, then you can use a regular bottle. Backwashable filter is absolutely essential in my book (for cleaning, longevity, etc.). Also, this is an absolute 0.1 filter (meaning that no hole is larger than 0.1 micron). I don't trust the electrostatic or other charge-based filters which claim to filter everything because their assumption is that all bugs carry a positive charge (and the bugs they test DO carry positive charge)... plus the charge polarity filters I'm not sure will catch everything in real life scenarios. And other filter types require replacing frequently otherwise filtration suffers (and bacteria may actually grow inside the filter!). Also, I saw a video where numerous Sawyer filters failed in some village (I forget the location). That "analysis" has since been shown to be faulty by real, controlled tests - there is also a paper published by Tufts University that proves that the Sawyer filters do what they say. Also, make sure you don't expose this (or ANY) water filter to freezing weather - because of the way water expands/contracts, freezing will damage filters (even if the filters look okay on the outside). In freezing weather, they say to carry your water filters in your pocket and at night put in your sleeping bag - even easier to do with this mini size. Also, on flights can't check it in; take in your carry-on bag. Update: To all the people looking for fail safe option, I've been using the Sawyer Mini first, and then a second pass with this SteriPen during travel in India. Drank about four liters of Indian tap and well-water every day for total of ten months using my system and have not gotten sick... if that's not proof, then I don't know what is!

Would recommend. Buying second piece.
Awesome product. Back wash required after very long use. Though water bags appears crumpled and would get torn after one two months regular use, still product itself is very rugged and appears will stay for 1 million gallons=3*10,00,000 litres which is vfm!!! Price of 04 set is very low abroad (amazon.com) however compared to that being sold in amazon.In. If the same price is made available without the exuberant delivery charges (as auth. Distributor exists in India so no need to call in to stocks from US after paying delivery) if the same at the same price can somehow be made available. Very good for sales personal and people always on the move, client visit etc,as water at different places, road side, hawkers or readily available on the go is questionable. So even if you are not immediately going on a mountain hike, still the product is useful in the city!!

Superb water filter for wild travel
Good quality piece, not a cheap copy thankfully. Used it on treks, it's a compact and extremely useful thing to have.

The best portable water filter that you can buy
The best portable water filter ever. It completely eliminates the need to buy bottled water on your trip. 0.1 micron filter, with a claim of filtering 100,000 gallons= 3,78,541 Litres. So if you drink 4 litres everyday from the Sawyer MINI then it will last you for 259 years. After having a look at Sawyer MINI, the lifestraw filter seems like a waste of money as it comes with a 0.2 micron filter and can filter only around 1000 Litres (264 gallons). I bought this filter for my motorcycle rides, so that I can drink safe and pure water everywhere. In India and even abroad there is no other portable water filter that can come even close to the Sawyer MINI for the price and purification that it offers.

Amazing. Thank you :)
From the health point of view, it's impossible for a commoner like me to say whether it's bad for your health. But it's a great product. Only drawback is that the water packet doesn't have provision to hang, hence you will have to hold it for a while if you are trying to fill up your bottle. One advice: Dry the packet from outside with a cloth before you fill a bottle. You don't want dirty water dripping in your bottle with the filtered water!

Great item for survivalists and travellers alike.
Excellent unit. I love the fold able bottle that comes with it, removing the need for me to purchase another such item for my travel kit. The filter itself is very useful and work very well. The included straw and the syringe are both robust and well designed. I have no complaints and the Sawyer kit is a well recommended item in every survival kit. I am happy to have this with me.

Must have one in every family.
This is an amazingly compact and effective water filter. The back wash syringe is in fact bigger than the filter. If you are a trekker/ adventure junkie then its a must have. Even the normal city types can have one while travelling. It's so small that in fact at first you will doubt its efficiency, but it actually is effective. Do backwash regularly.

Money well spent
What a great little product, small lie weight and practical, that's what you want any day of the week on the trail. The only downside is, I found the squeeze bag (16 oz) a little too small for my liking, constantly need to fill up and filter. A large squeezy bag would be ideal.

Fantastic
So, this is probably the best in this class of water filters. I have a LifeStraw, a LifeStraw water bottle, an MSR (I think) travel filter (awful). This Sawyer is the best of them. There is no messing about with it, it just works. It comes with a collapsible pouch, which is nice because it makes it easier to drink from if you squeeze the container. It will also connect to standard disposable water bottles, if you prefer that or happen to have one. It comes with a straw, which is nice, so you can drink directly without the pouch, but you are pretty much lying on the ground to make that happen. One thing about the pouch, because it's flexible, if you submerse it in water, it will collapse and push the air out without taking water in. So, you just have to inflate it with your mouth, and try to scoop water into it. Kind of a pain in the butt. Also, if there is any air in the container when you attach the filter, you can't just drink from it like a straw, because you will just get air. So, bottoms up! I also have a Platypus 2L bag which this does plug into. Not sure if I can use it in-line, but I can definitely use it as a gravity filter with this Sawyer, so that's a nice option. As for flavour, I haven't tried it with really dirty water yet, just clean flowing streams, here in Ontario, but it is delicious. This is the best for the price point.

Came across this by accident...how could I have missed this thing! If you camp, hike, or want to be prepared GET THIS!
I spend a great deal of time hiking, camping, hunting, and putting emergency kits together for friends and family. I've had the Lifestraw as part of my kits for some time and I've been very happy with it. But now I'm upgrading (still keeping the straw) all of my kits with this mini water filtration kit. Why? Because it is SOOOOOO much easier to use in the collection of filtered water than the straw. I can use this filter to fill a bag with ease (there is also a manner to fill your water bottle) so that you can quickly filter a large amount of water to then use later. The straw is nice when you come across a stream or lake to drink from but what does the straw do for you a couple miles down the road? Well if you put unfiltered water in a water bottle you could drink from that but then you have a dirty water bottle after you are done. With this filter you can have clean water in that water bottle from the get-go and save the lifestraw for more desperate times. Pros: - When on sale these can be had for an incredible price. The base price (for what the kit offers) is not too bad. - Small and portable. - Rugged but I do recommend that you store it in a manner that it will not take a great deal of abuse. Water is important and if this is your only means to clean water then you should guard it accordingly. - Light weight. Very important especially if take on long treks. Those that carry a lot on their backs for long distances will agree that every ounce counts! - Long lasting which only multiplies the value many fold. Cons: - Been using for close to a year with no issues thus far. I trust it enough to put it into kits for family and friends.

Noodzakelijk in crisis situaties
Mocht er ooit een probleem zijn met de waterlevering, dan is deze filter een perfecte uitkomst. Gekocht op basis van de vele lovende reviews, ook op YouTube, en blij dat die in mijn bezit is. Hoop het nooit nodig te hebben.
