**Q: 5 or 6 inch knife? Which one is more universal?**
A: I own both. The 6” at One at home and the 5” at a vacation home.

The 5” is slightly easier to control. But the 6” gives more versatility for large cuts such as beef roasts large fowl, etc. 

If I had to buy one, I’d go for the 6”.
