## Description

The Neiko 11108A 80 grit Aluminum Oxide 4.5” Flap Disc is a T27 flat disc outfitted with a 7/8” arbor and are packed in a 10-piece set. Flap discs are a multi-functional abrasive which can perform stock removal and surface finishing at the same time. These AO flapper wheels are best used on ferrous and non-ferrous metals like stainless steel, carbon steel, tool steel, nickel alloy, aluminum, titanium, cast iron and welds. AO flap discs can be used on other materials like rubber, plastic, fiberglass, and wood, but Zirconia would be a good alternative if longer life, faster cut, and higher heat and pressure are concerns. Abrasive flap discs are commonly used in welding, machining, manufacturing, heavy-duty equipment work, and industrial maintenance. Can be used to remove paint and rust, cleaning flashing, edge grinding and chamfering, deburring, blending of weld seams and materials, stock removal, sharpening, shaping, contouring, and smoothing of various materials, surface preparation and surface finishing, and the finer grits can be used for shining and polishing. Choose coarse 40 grit when removing more material or initial grinding, flattening, or shaping. Choose medium 60 or 80 grit for surface preparation, cleaning, and deburring. Choose fine 120 grit for blending or creating a semi-polished surface.

Review: Great flapper disc - These do a great job and you can't beat the price, I've always bought the more expensive thicker flap disc because they looked like they would last longer but I'm always frustrated with there tendency to round out at the edge far before the rest of pad wears, these are thinner as reflected in the price and they also round out at the edge but will still leave a flatter pad to work with, two of these Flapper disc will last longer and do a better job than one of the thicker disc and still be less expensive.......I highly recommend these sanding flap disc and will continue to use them.

Got these based on reviews. Well! These last much longer taking down welds, fast and smooth. They generally survive about 30 minutes of intermittent grinding (intermittent to avoid putting heat into metal.) With this price I feel they’re a great value. I’ll buy more once I’ve gone through the 2x10 packs I ordered.

**Q: will these disks work to sand wood?**
A: i have been using the 80 grit disc on wood for three years , i use them to sculpt live edge lumber for furniture. they work great just dont over use them when they are worn out change them or they will burn the wood. they are not ment to finish sand and will gouge the wood if you are not careful.

A: Hi Steve.  These are generic and should fit any 4 1/2" angle grinders.  They work very well at removing paint and rust without removing a lot of metal

**Q: The chrome on my runner boards is bubbling and chipping. Will this work to sand the remaining chrome off and prep for Spray on bed liner on them?**
A: yes, these will sand anything, ive used them on wood,metal, paint and varnish so far, the paint and varnish clog them up pretty fast tho

These disc aren't the longest lasting flap wheels. I have had a good experience with them though. When you compare these to the locally purchased wheels in a similar price point, these last nearly twice as long. They don't compare to a high quality wheel that is priced at 10 times the price, literally. So I will continue to buy them and use them. The longevity for the price makes these a great buy.
