The Care and Keeping of You (Revised): The Body Book for Younger Girls : Schaefer, Valorie Lee, Masse, Josee: desertcart.in: Books Review: Amazing for getting to know changes in girls body - This book is suitable for younger girls (Ages 9-11) I bought this for my daughter when she turned 9 when she started observing some changes in her body and she kept asking me about it. It has a lot of information about hair care, healthy eating, bad breath, bras, breast development, periods, pimples, acne, eyes, ears, mouth, braces, acne, sun tan, skin, hands, underarm hair, food, legs, feet, fitness, sports safety, bad touch and good touch, rest, sleep diseases (like insomnia and bed wetting), your feelings and hormonal imbalance, sanitary pads and how to wear pads. It talks about fluoride, brushing your teeth everyday, flossing, medicines to take for acne, warts and calluses and how to treat them, nail care, vaginal discharge, fungus and blisters in foot and how to treat them and about sports and sleep. It has real medical advice and explains things like a pediatrician to children! It has tips, how-tos and facts from the experts. My daughter is reading it cover to cover and understanding everything. It is very age appropriate. (Doesn't cover details about sex) Really important book for kids on understanding changes in their bodies. Review: Got for it👍 - The content is excellent. Helps the girls sail better through those preteen and teen years of awkwardness. A good guide for both the daughter and mother, hence a must buy I would say. As for the seller, Millenials Media, the book arrived in perfect condition and on time, so no complaints there 👍. They also kept me posted about the package details through WhatsApp. Helpful service there too.

Perfect gift for your pre-teen daughter.
If you are looking to introduce your pre-teen daughter to the difficult to converse about 'body matters', this is the perfect way to go about it. Although targeted to a US audience, it is much universally readable. Lucid text, written in a friendly non-intimidating manner. Perfect gift for your pre-teen daughter.

My daughter is an avid reader and very verbal, but there are some things she was not comfortable talking to me about, so we got her this. She has found it very informative, and reassuring and given her confidence to ask more focused and specific questions. I would buy the next one too - if only there were one for the younger boys!

This book is an amazing tool for educating and opening dialogue with your young girls as they approach puberty. There is a ton of great education and the book approaches everything from the head down. The book approaches everything in a way that appeals to young readers, but remains real. We got this and the second volume (for older girls) for our eldest daughter. My wife and I have been going through it with her and it’s really helping my daughter understand the importance of proper hygiene. She’s a smart and inquisitive kid and asks a lot of great questions through the reading. She loves the book and reads it independently. Depending on your girls’ developmental levels, you may need to read it to them. For a precocious seven year old, most of it is well within grasp. Seriously, if you are raising girls, I cannot recommend this book enough. I have seen many books for girl’s health and this is, by far, the best I have seen. If I can find something this good for my son, I will get it without a doubt. Dialogue about physical and mental well-being is so important to begin as young as your child can understand. For physical health, these conversations should begin as young as age two or three, at developmentally appropriate levels. By being real and open about these topics, you remove awkwardness and stigma, making the real and more challenging conversations easier down the road. This book gives you an opening to begin the dialogue. If I could rate this higher, I would.

This is a good book for preteen. I bought it for my 9year old and I'm happy with this book being so childish still since her sister (5) will want to read and see it too. It has a bit information on everything (not sex) simple and short for that age. However this is just for the beginning i will get eventually a more informative one.
