Delve into the dark depths of human nature with Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll & Mr. Hyde by Robert Louis Stevenson. This gripping novella explores the duality of man and the consequences of unchecked desires, creating a chilling and thought-provoking reading experience. A gripping tale of dualities and human nature! Robert Louis Stevenson's haunting tale of a split personality and its destructive consequences Unveils the inner struggle between good and evil within the human psyche Provocative examination of identity, morality, and the dangers of suppressing one's desires Unforgettable characters, including the enigmatic Dr. Jekyll and the sinister Mr. Hyde A timeless classic that continues to captivate readers, leaving them questioning the depths of their own humanity Review: Excellent - Excellent Review: Liked the story so far, good read for those who like short classic thrillers - I liked the book so far, at first i was bored but slowly got more invested in the plot as the story progressed. Even though its not one of the best, its definitely a good read for such a short classic. The language is a bit hard especially if you are not accustomed with the type of english used in writing back in the days but if you are familiar it's fine. I am rating it 4 stars since i like the story but it was just didn't completely match my taste though i enjoyed it and i believe it would have been better if it was written in more details.

Quick read
I personally liked the book quite a bit- especially because it’s short enough to read during exams! For some people it may be a bit hard to get into as the plot is a bit slow paced. But if you’re patient enough you’re in for a treat!

For obvious reasons, Robert Louis Stevenson‘s brilliantly created literary work is a classical masterpiece. In this book, the narrative depicts the dual essence of every living being. The predicament we find ourselves in all the time: truly wanting to do good but almost always finding immense satisfaction in doing the evil that our conscience and benevolence abhor after the fact. The theatre of war is continuously waging in our hearts and thoughts, and it is only fair to state that the ability to will and to do is in our own hands, and the first step in securing victory in this never-ending fray is to recognize its existence. A genuinely educational, intriguing, and enthralling read that is sure to provide you with that Aha moment your literary buds have been craving. Give it a shot! (PS- If you are an MCU fan or Marvel comic lover, you should know that Stan Lee in 1974 explicitly stated that he was inspired by Jekyll and Hyde along with characters such as Quasimodo, Frankenstein, and Frankenstein’s monster for HULK‘s storyline.)

19th Century Masterpiece with over 100 film adaptations.
Stevenson published this famous novella in the late 19th Century. Since then, there have been more than one hundred film adaptations of the basic Jekyll and Hyde story. I've seen two of the most widely known: Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde, 1931 with Frederic March, and Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde, 1941 with Spencer Tracy. However, I'd never read the source material by Stevenson. That changed when Jekyll/Hyde appeared on one of the many email notices of special book deals that I receive. What caught my was the e-book version for my Kindle was on sale for $0.68. Yep, only sixty-eight cents. Since I'd watched two movie versions, I thought I knew the story, but I know enough about literature and screenplays to know that what appears on film is often not what the author first wrote. Sometimes circumstances and sequences are changed, parts and aspects omitted, or sometimes added. For sixty-eight cents, how could I not buy and read it. Wow. I'm glad I did. While it's true that Stevenson's literary style is quite dated, one might even say over-written and wordy, the entire approach to the story was simultaneously the same and quite different. Much of the screenplay had been added to the underlying story to make it more interesting for moviegoers. I won't disclose all of the differences, as I'll leave that for you to discover. Suffice it to say that while the Stevenson novella left out a LOT of what was included on film, it did NOT distract from the story or my enjoyment in reading it. So, get your copy, in print or digital, settle down in a comfy chair and enjoy. You won't be sorry.

Great Read
The story is familiar but reading the original had so much more depth than the movie remakes. Recommended for lovers of the English language and it's power to create timeless imagery and emotion
