Avoid if beginners
If u are a beginner after the letters chapter they dont even mention english words in tamil in bracket how to pronounce the word takes a lot of time to read the tamil word yourself from frint chapters go for another book if you are a beginner

Misleading
The title suggests that this was a book for a newcomer to the Tamil language. I have aquired som Tamil speaking friends and wanted to converse with them in their langeage as a matter of courtesy. I had hoped that there would have been some basic phrases spelt phonetically, but not so it is virtually impossible to even get started. Not Amazons fault as I forgot to read other purcgasers remarks.

Waste of money
The font of the Tamil script is so tiny and illegible. It is a big mistake I bought this book.
