It is not a humidifier. It is a tiny motor connected to an agitator that simply spins in the water. I am sure there is some about of increase in humidity, but it is so negligible that it wasn't worth the electricity to run it. It would have been just as helpful to put a bowl of water in his room. As for the construction, it is made of very cheap plastic. This is one of the worst purchases we have ever made from amazon. We ultimately replaced this overpriced "humidifier" with one from walgreens for $20. ### ⭐ Not a good quality product.
