Amazing product !!
This may be the most important review or recommendation you ever read about this product. The best feature is really the waterproofing nano coating. Moisture due to any source is deadly to the delicate electronics in any hearing device, so the nano coating provides peace of mind for that. The size and features make this the best hearing device on the market for the price. Did a great deal of research looking at multiple brands and pricing based on features and customer reviews. After careful consideration I purchased these game ears. Personally I use them as hearing aids. I could never afford the outrageous price for "real" hearing aids. My life is forever changed for the better. I could go on and on about how wonderful it is to hear so very well again. Actually with these I can hear better than someone with good, normal hearing. Now on to the most important part I talked about earlier. This is for all those people who have purchased these or a similar device for a hearing aid and not just a game ear for hunting. Years ago I had ear molds made. So when I purchased these I tried the included ear buds and was not very impressed, but when I used the supplied clear tubing and attached them to my ear molds the ability to hear everything was absolutely astonishing. The difference between the ear buds and the ear molds was black and white. So believe me, if you want to hear like you always dreamed of, use some of the money you have saved buying these over expensive hearing aids and have ear molds made and use them. Ear molds are specific to you, are comfortable, allow your ears to breathe and allow you to hear like you would never have believed possible again in your lifetime. Do it. You will never regret it. Buy these. They are the best for the money. But be careful. Different sites charge hugely different prices for the identical product. So good luck and happy hearing. Hope this helped.

Best off-the-shelf units for hearing loss
I've used three pairs of hearing loss aids: first a very tiny digital pair, then an analog pair, now these - all behind-the-ear form factor. These Walkers Elite HD Pro-2 units are far above the rest in terms of performance, battery life and creature comfort. They attenuate abrupt loud sounds, they do not have a rotary volume control that is constantly being bumped which messes up the setting, they use a battery size that is both inexpensive and long-lasting and they are small enough to be light and comfortable. Sound quality is, in my experience, excellent. When turned on they respond with an audible signal and start at the midpoint volume setting. You have only to depress the rocker control to raise or lower the amplitude to your comfort level and each depression results in a two-tone signal indicating up or down. So it is very easy to establish a setting each time they are placed in use. When the battery is depleted (mine are used 16-hours each day and last weeks), the unit emits an audible tone to advise that it's time to swap batteries. The units use #13 batteries, which are relatively small but yet fairly easy to handle, even with a moderate hand tremor. One subtle longevity feature: these units are coated with a hydrophilic material that causes perspiration to bead up on their surface rather than seek crevices to seep into. I've had these units about a month, and can't say enough good about them - especially at the price. If you have a mild to moderate hearing loss that's not due to damage uncorrectable with amplification, you owe it to yourself and especially to friends around you to buy a pair of these aids!

Fantastic Device; Confusing Instructions
I'd give this hearing aid 5 stars but for the confusing directions that came with it. First I'll review the device, then the instructions:I have moderate hearing loss in my left ear: trouble hearing people speak; constantly asking people to repeat themselves. I have to use subtitles or closed-captioning to watch movies or TV because voices sound muddled. I tried a ~ $35 hearing aid from Amazon but sent it back because the hissing white noise and background noise drove me crazy. From my reading, I learned that this is a problem with analog hearing devices, and that digital devices have cleaner sound quality. For digital devices, only 4-5 channels are necessary for hearing voices clearly. Devices offering 20+ channels are overkill- and needlessly expensive. This hearing aid is digital and has 4 channels so I decided to give it a try. I'm so glad I did! It is fantastic, especially considering the price. True, it costs more than the analog devices selling for $30-$40. But good digital hearing aids are usually $1000+, so this one is quite inexpensive for what it gives you.I can now hear conversations effortlessly. I went through an entire day at work without having to ask even one person to repeat himself. I can hear the kitchen timer timer go off from the other end of the house, when before I couldn't hear it from the next room. I had to turn the TV way down. Even better, I can clearly understand what's being said without closed-captioning!Now that I'm using this hearing aid I'm realizing how bad my hearing has gotten. Last night I heard a strange clicking sound in my living room. Finally figured out it was the second hand ticking on the wall clock! I heard a police siren a few blocks away, but when I removed the ear bud I couldn't hear it at all.The directions are confusing, though. It was hard to understand how the battery was to be inserted. You have to place the battery with the raised side down on the tray, flat side showing, otherwise the little tray won't close. To adjust volume, the instructions say that the HD Pro Elite has 19 volume settings and:"Each time you press the Volume Control toggle either higher or lower, you will hear a single tone." "Once you've reached either the maximum or minimum limit, you will hear a double tone."Mine doesn't work that way. When I pressed and held down the toggle I did hear a single tone "beep". But the volume didn't change. I pressed at least 50 times going up, and 50 times going down, hearing a single "beep" each time, but the volume did not change. Then I started pressing the toggle switch *quickly* and heard a double-tone "beep-beep" each time. THAT worked. That's the way to get the volume to go higher or lower. When I got to the minimum I heard a triple beep. So the instructions are inaccurate, or my device doesn't work like they say, or maybe I just misunderstood, but I DID get it to work. And once I got it figured out, it works GREAT.I'm new to hearing aids and made what is probably a newbie mistake: At first, I pressed the ear bud in firmly to make an airtight seal. That is not only uncomfortable after awhile, but it isn't necessary. Now I have the ear bud inserted very gently, barely touching my ear. It's totally comfortable this way, and actually seems to work better. It's smaller than the other hearing aid I tried before, and with the clear tube and clear ear bud, it's very discreet. I like that.I saved a lot of money on this hearing device over the professional hearing aids. It's well worth the price IMO. I'll post another review in a few months to say how it's holding up.
