No more milk running out of baby’s mouth
Our baby is 6 weeks old and mostly breast fed. We are trying to get her ready to go to daycare and are trying out bottle feeding. We have always heard great things about Dr Browns bottles so that is what we registered for. We got the standard size 1 nipples with our anti colic bottles. The milk would just run out of the sides of her mouth and she would have the worst time burping. I read to try a slower nipple, so I ordered these and it’s a world of difference! I wish they were more readily available, but we will be ordering more!Update: ordered more and they came quickly and were exactly what we needed!

slowest flowing "slow" nipple around
One of the slowest flowing nipples on the market today. Works well with our 31 week premature baby at 35 weeks gestational age once he learned how to eat from a bottle. There is no standard of rating nipple flow, so a "slow flow" from one company might be faster than a "level 1" from another, so you need to actually see what your baby's needs are and how they react to it. If you use a Brown Lvl1 or something else that is too fast, give these a try, they are MUCH slower than the tommytippy and comotomo slow flows, and fit just about in every "standard" bottle. They are silicone, and steam sterilizable, and also work well when switching between breastfeeding and bottling, as they more accurately flow like a real letdown from a breast. If you need a slower flow, as our little one did for his first 2 weeks of bottling, Dr. Browns does make an even slower flowing nipple, but its special order only from the hospital.

Breast-fed baby bottle success!
These fit with Dr. Brown's 4 oz glass bottles. I primarily breast feed and I have made it months with only 2 glass bottles and these nipples. My breast-fed baby did so well with these, took the nipple no problem for the first time at about 6 weeks old. The slow flow is perfect, no choking or even drooling. My son has never spit up with bottle feeding which I attribute to these nipples and Dr. Brown's glass bottles. At around 6 months my husband pointed out that it was taking him longer to bottle feed than it took me to breast feed and we transited to the Stage 1 which came packaged with the glass bottles with no problem. --These definitely flow slower than the Stage 1 nipples. My son takes a bottle 5-10 minutes faster with a Stage 1 than with these Preemie nipples.

They seem to work great for that - definitely slower than a level 1 ...
We use these with my 3 month old to slow her down eating so she doesn't spit up as much. They seem to work great for that - definitely slower than a level 1 nipple. I prefer these to the ones I got at Babies R Us because they are clearly labeled "Preemie" right on the nipple - helps to make sure I'm grabbing the right one. These seem to sit in the rim that screws on the bottle more firmly and do not leak. The 6 pack is perfect for daycare.

Great for nicu/preemie babies. ❤️
My LO was in the nicu and I wasn’t able to be up there 24/7 to breastfeed so I purchased these slow flow preemie nipples so that he still had to work for his milk like with the breast. Well he wouldn’t stay latched so I went for just bottle and he would tire himself out on the preemie and I had to go to the level one (standard size) nipple. I bought two of these and only used 1-2 times and I still have an unopened pack that I’ll give to someone with a preemie or donate to my nicu. I definitely recommend as it was what started him to receive bottles and keep taking them so that we could go home.

Preemie nipples
I was concerned because the picture didn't match the description but I can confirm that I did in fact receive premeie nipples. Our breastfeeding baby was spitting up with formula with size 1, these are better. I wasn't sure what size to use, so we tested them using a certain small volume. The size 1 nipple took about 20 seconds, the size N nipple about 30, the size preemie about 45 and the ultra preemie about 80 seconds. We are considering switching to newborn size because it takes him quite awhile to finish but its great that he doesn't spit up so much.

Works but what a pain to find!
I bought these for my 1 month old ( full term baby) he was having horrible issues with gas and fussing after every feeding, being a new mom I didn’t realize that it was the size 1 nipple that was flowing too fast causing him to gulp and swallow mass amounts of air. (It was a miserable 30 days...) I originally owned the dr browns wide mouth bottles that were purchased as a gift but for the LIFE of me couldn’t find premie nipples that go with those bc they are an older set? Blue tube vs the new green tube inside. So I ended up buying the dr browns original slow slow bottles and this set of nipples. Pain in the butt, but worth it. No more gulping, much less gas, no spit up and bc it’s slower flow he’s more interested in breastfeeding which was an issue with him being a lazy eater. UH motherhood... it’s not for the faint of heart..

If you newborn gets more on him than in him these are 4 you
The 1s that came with the bottle caused our newborn to get more food on him then in him. These nipples saved the day and feed him the most. After a month we knew it was time to go back to 1's when he would cry while eating almost like he wanted more but couldn't get it fast enough...he would also fall asleep before he was even finished (all signs he was ready to graduate to the next nipple, which these signs went away when we graduated nipples). If it wasn't for these nipples we would have had more sleepless nights because we would have thought he was done with 4 ounces when really he was only getting enough to last him an hr.
