This is a secret weapon!
I'd never heard of this brand before starting to search for a replacement for my Asus ROG GS-BE18000 that's got problems with it's firmware (yes Asus you've broken your router). I saw this Flint3 as a short term cheaper replacement than the £300 Asus Wi-Fi7 router that I need to RMA. Well this £180 Flint3 out performs the more expensive Asus by about 60%. What do I define as 60%? Well the Wi-Fi 7 signal is now strong throughout the house, all compatible devices are getting a full signal (I live in a 5 bedroom semi-detached with 200 devices throughout the house). The speed of the internet is now a consistent 900/900 which we pay for. There's no buffering, there's no waiting for websites to load up anymore, everything is instant as it should be. The games consoles are getting decent speeds again (the Asus was slowing them down no matter how I configured it!). The GL-iNet Flint 3 has now converted me to their brand. I'll be taking a close look at their new flagship later this year as their platform is stable, easy to configure and just works as advertised, which is something that's rare in the technology sector. Highly recommend this product and the brand, as they appear great value for money, with excellent coverage and security backed up by a stable software build. Nothing beats stability when it comes to the internet.

Superb Router
Fantastic upgrade — super fast and reliable! Picked up the GL.iNet Flint 3 recently, and I’m seriously impressed. Setup was quick and easy — the interface is clean, and it gives you way more control than your typical consumer router. The WiFi 7 speeds are no joke; everything in my house runs smoother, from gaming to streaming 4K video. The tri-band setup is great too — the 6GHz band handles my gaming rig perfectly, while all the smart devices chill on the 2.4 and 5GHz bands without slowing anything down. 2.4 and 5GHz bands signal strength is strong throughout the whole house, even through a couple of walls. 6GHz falters quickly the further you get away, that is expected with 6GHz though. I also love that it supports advanced features like VPN, AdGuard, and all the custom firmware options GL.iNet is known for. It’s powerful but still user-friendly. Overall, this thing is a beast for the price — fast, stable, and packed with features. Highly recommend if you want pro-level performance without spending a fortune!

GL.iNet GL-BE9300 (Flint 3)
Highly recommended. Note that I have bought this with my own money and not a paid promotion. I was moving from Virgin Media to Zen Internet Full Fiber 500 and my previous experience of the Flint 2 with Virgin was not good as the Flint 2 would not work with the VM router in modem mode. I was, however, willing to try again with the Flint 3 and lo! it just worked out of the box. This router uses OpenWRT but boots up with their GL.iNet interface which is very easy to navigate for most things but you can also use the OpenWRT LuCI interface if you prefer. Things I like: - Very easy to set up. I just connected the router to the ONT and powered up the router then everything just connected and started working once the router had booted up. I also have VOIP via Zen so I got the port settings from Zen and with a tweak to the Port Forwarding setting on the router and I have the landline working. - WiFi coverage is excellent across 2.4, 5 and 6GHz bands and the router is WiFi7 ready. The ability to set up a guest network across all these bands is also a welcome extra. - There are a lot of plugins from OpenWRT that you can install if you wish to. - frequent updates so that the router stays up to date. Nice to haves: - an easy way to backup settings instead of going through LuCi Final thoughts: - This router is not for those who want a simple interface but if you are willing to invest some time then it will work very well for you.

GL.iNet GL-BE9300 Flint 3 Wi-Fi 7 Router
I love this router. It suits all my tweaking and tinkering needs. Because of the flint 3 I have a optimized home network, perfect for my gaming family. It also protects all my wifi6/wifi5(I don't have wifi7 clients) devices connected from various dangers because of the adguard and DNS filtering features. Also has vpn capability which i have active on everything on my network apart from three gaming pc's. Solid performance. I highly recommend this router to whoever wants their cake and eat it!

Great router, lots of features, quick to set up.
This is a very nice, very fast device. I am very happy with my purchase. I have previously flashed DDWRT onto my router and have really missed the features over the last few years - this has all of those lovely features and options to add more. I am using it as a bridge to the main router and it is giving excellent throughput and working really well. I will also be making use of the openvpn server as I am often away from my home network. Build quality seems good - design, according to my son, is a bit 'Deceptacon-ish'. If you want / need lots of configuration options for your router - this is the best I have found. My last was a Netgear Nighthhawk, which is absolute pants in comparison despite being a similar price when purchased.

Great speeds, not the best coverage
WebUI is great, configuration was quite easy but there were a few co fusions on the WiFi side. Coverage isn't the best but WiFi 7 isn't aimed at extending that so I'm not too shocked. Speeds are great over WiFi and ethernet on my 2.5GBe line. Would recommend if you're within the same room or floor but for a whole house coverage, I'd recommend getting something else or a second one to link and extend signal. Considering the price, this beats all the competition I've tried.

Poor performance unfortunately
I bought this to replace my 10 year old Netgear D7800 wireless router. I have OpenWrt installed on that, so I liked the fact that the GL router came with OpenWrt preinstalled. I was, initially, quite pleased with the setup and features. The VPN, ad blocking and other privacy-focused features are very appealing. The initial configuration took a few minutes, the QR code to join the network and the mobile friendly interface meant I could do it from my phone. Sadly, with an identical configuration to my previous router, I kept hitting issues. My kids were complaining about drops from voice chats and I experienced similar hiccups in Zoom meetings. I tried various configuration changes and hard resets for a week or so with no improvement, so I had to send it back. The WiFi signal was also quite poor. I've read online that the chip in the router is the problem. I had to switch off the MLO network, which improved connection stability for some of the older devices. Back to the 10 year old router for me until I find a decent WiFi 7 device that runs OpenWrt.

I have thoroughly enjoyed this device, the fact that it has tri-band 2.4/5/6 for such a reasonable price is a plus. Lastly, the company is honest and upfront, they don’t over promise on things they cannot do and can do. which is why the OS that is installed (OPEN-WRT) is open source so you are free to do what you want via Luci advanced menu if you want a feature that isn’t readily available.

Incredible speeds and exactly the parental controls our family needed!
I finally upgraded our home network to the GL.iNet Flint 3, and I couldn't be happier with the decision. With all the smart devices, tablets, and phones connected in our house, our old router was seriously struggling, but this Wi-Fi 7 tri-band setup handles everything flawlessly without a single dropped connection or buffer screen. The real selling point for me, though, was the built-in family features. With my son Austin and my 7-year-old daughter getting more active online lately, my wife and I desperately needed an easy way to manage what they can access and when. The GL.iNet interface makes it incredibly simple to set up strict usage schedules, pause the Wi-Fi on specific devices during dinner or homework time, and filter out inappropriate content. It gives us total peace of mind without requiring an IT degree to figure out the settings. Setup was surprisingly quick right out of the box, the coverage easily reaches every corner of our house, and the speeds are blazing fast even when everyone is streaming or playing games at the same time. If you have a busy household and want robust control over your kids' internet usage without sacrificing top-tier performance, this router is a home run. Highly recommended!
