Durable, self-retracting metal knife
I've used this exact model utility knife for over 6 years now on a weekly basis. This is the first time I've had to find a replacement.Pros:1. Metal, everywhere! Except the rubber grip, which is a nice addition.2. Changing blades is easy and tool-free. Just spin the big gold dial to the left to open it up and it hinges open.3. Has storage in the handle for additional blades.4. Very durable5. Self-retracting (pro or con depending on your usage), this has been extremely beneficial given the nature of my job, which is rapidly opening boxes on a line.Cons:1.Frequent rapid use can result in a thumb blister, but after the first one it hasn't come back, even with rapid use.2. Later on in its life, the dial will loosen a bit on its own when you use the knife. I occasionally check the dial to make sure it stays tight, otherwise the 2 sides will separate slightly and the blade will fall out. Not a huge deal, as it only takes a split second to do a quick check and continue cutting. I'm a lefty it's pretty easy for me to thumb tighten it.Other:1. If you store this in your back pocket, put it tip up. The metal housing may eventually puncture your back pocket if you go pointed end down. Did it to 2 pairs of my work pants.2. I see co-workers use company provided blades all the time, which use flimsy metal inside plastic handles. The blades flex when trying to cut plastic banding. One drop and the storage panel of their knife flies open. This particular utility knife uses the type of blades that you would find in a hardware store, and they aren't flimsy like the ones the plastic knives use, it can also survive multiple drops with grace.3. Over 6 years and counting, but my old knife has developed 2 cracks in the cradle the blade sets on. Yet somehow it still works like a champ, mostly. It has become more picky of the blades I use in it as a result. Some of them won't push out properly until 2-3 attempts. I decided it was time for a new one.

Great safety knife
I have to use safety style knives to open boxes at work. I found this brand about 10yrs ago after using every other safery knife i could find and user. I would get 1-2 weeks out of the others if not much less. I can use these for at least a month. Theyre useable even after they wear out & break - but are a bit of a pain.Im glad Amazon started carrying these as I used to have to buy 15 at a time to get the price down.If you have to use this style knife - get these you wont regret it!

My everyday go to boxcutter at work.
Bright orange so it's hard to misplace. Retractable blade so you don't forget the blade out and stick it in your pocket. Heavy so you know you have it. Place to store multiple blades. Decent grip. Can use multiple types of standard blades....It's got everything I want in a box cutter, other then maybe a case pack cutting guard I have had on other cutters.

Best cutter I’ve ever had
Pros: very well made, much safer than other types, easy to hold onto because of sizeCons: the auto retracting blade makes it difficult to cut the top off boxes, but it’s worth it**approx 6 months in: still the best I’ve had. This is very sturdy; I’ve dropped it many times on concrete with no issues. The auto retract action began to stick sometimes a while back so that the tip of the blade protruded. I never figured out why and so haven’t stopped that yet. I love how easy it is to change blades, takes seconds. I would definitely buy again if I lost it or recommend it to a friend.

The best safety box cutter available
if you have to use self-retracting box cutters to appease the insurance gods, then you need the Pacific Handy Cutter Quickblade. Unlike most other options, the Quickblade offers durable all-metal construction, tool-less blade changes and generous blade storage. I used one of these 100 times a day, every day, for 3 years working in a warehouse and never wore it out.

The only box cutter I'll use.
I have been using this box cutter for years. In my various retail positions I've been required to use a self-retracting safety box cutter, and this one has never disappointed me. It is strong and durable. It is extremely easy to replace the blades and has a spot in the handle to store extra blades. I am a manager and I used my own money to purchase several of these for my team because I want them to use the best and safest box cutter.

Blade Does Not Stay Locked In The Open Position...
The description is a little vague as in yes, the blade does spring back. However, it does not lock with the blade exposed. Constant thumb pressure is required to keep the blade in the open, or exposed position. To me that could be a distraction one doesn't need while using. With that said, it appears to be well made with some heft to it and the over size screw. It comes with one blade only but it looks like 4-5 blades could be stored internally.Still sending it back.

Best utility knife
I used this knife at work and had to have one. The knife fits so well in your hand and the spring blade is a great safety feature. Easy to change once the edge dulls. One problem I have had is the screw on the side sometimes loosens during use. This is how the blade gets changed. I have always caught the issue before being anywhere near a problem. Highly recommend!
