FOX'S U-BET Chocolate Syrup, Brooklyn Original, Kosher, 22 oz

This is the best. My children and 5 friends, 8 kids total, did a blind taste test of all major choc syrup for chocolate milk. It took almost 2 hours. U-bet won gold, every kid but one listed it favorite out of 9 different brands. The “one off” listed it close second. Thinking of sharing the cards they filled out. Have you ever made a ghetto egg cream with u-bet choc syrup ? Try the u-bet vanilla ! It’s so good, I even made a black and white (van and choc mix) egg cream. AMAZING ! Please make the gallons available again. I can not re-order dang it.

I’m born on Long Island in the 60s, then moved to Brooklyn when I was three. So in 1966, I became a Brooklyn-ite. broken in the 60s was amazing, I lived in a Italian Irish Polish Russian Neighbourhood. I was school was very diverse. We had Spanish friends, black friends, white friends from every place you can think of, and what protocol together was going to the Jewish deli at the end of playing softball and stick ball and getting ourselves a couple of ice creams but now they were like a nickel or a quarter. I don’t remember. But dad and Mom would buy the old big bottles of U-BET syrup. now for everybody who doesn’t know, an egg cream is not actually made with egg or cream. What it is is it’s seltzer, old-fashioned seltzer, but you can use any. I like the old-fashioned seltzer the one that came in a bottle that you would press the button down and it would shoot the seltzer out, almost like those old gag clown act where they would shoot water at you with one of them. So you put a little bit of seltzer a couple of inches then you put a couple of inches of milk and then you add the U-BET syrup. And start up. If you do it right, you’ll get a nice frosty top and almost like a chocolate milk soda. Now you can use any chocolate syrup to do list, but to be quite honest with you, you bet syrup is the best chocolate syrup in the world. Just ask any Brooklynite about my age.

The best chocolate syrup ever. Highest quality. The flavor profile is distinctly different than any other chocolate syrup. The reason to buy a 3 pack: it’s gone before you know it. U-bet is Coke to all other choc syrup’s “Pepsi”. Better to make your own chocolate milk with a dollop of U-bet, pour in the milk, and stir than any store bought prepared chocolate milk. (Unless until U-Bet starts making it for sale in the stores or someone uses it as the chocolate base.) U-bet chocolate syrup is NOT just a New York thing (“local”/nostalgia product). It’s not a Mallomar. It’s way way better because it’s good and available all year round. And it’s the only brand of chocolate syrup for a true and proper Egg Cream. And please. If you’re going to make an egg cream do it the right way: Brooklyn style. U-bet slathered on bottom of tall glass. Milk poured next (should be whole; never use skim). Seltzer last, sprayed in - not poured over from bottle or filled by fountain drink machine.

I'm a senior New Yorker. How could I not love Fox's U-Bet syrup. It's the best. Sold in every candy store in New York when you bought an eggcream. So glad I can still find this! Thank you.

The only chocolate syrup to make egg creams. Has to be Fox's U-Bet to be authentic.

My husband has been using Fox’s u bet syrup for years, growing up in Brooklyn, NY. It makes wonderful egg creams but also used on ice cream, in milk and many other tasty delights. Stores in our area don’t sell this product but thankfully, Amazon to the rescue.

So delicious! Rich and makes the best homemade egg creams. Take a while to get up to Canada but worth every penny!

You can’t beat this for a New York egg cream
