Image quality is fantastic. Works--fully compatible--with SanDisk Extreme Portable SSD 2Tb, with USB cable routed to glove box; mount with velcro to prevent rattling and vibration. Paid Best Buy $100 to install--which carries a lifetime guarantee and is worth the price. Use INDUSTRIAL GRADE FASTENERS (Self Mating Reclosable <mushroom style>, not hook and loop Velcro) on clear backing to mount the cameras. This permits removal for window cleaning. Position the base unit on the driver's side window, as close to the center line and as high as possible, while avoiding the black dots most windows have around the front-viewing sensors. This gives the best images and permits operation. The installation kit contains many items also sold as add-ons. Make sure you don't purchase duplicate items. Supplemental Batteries for recording while parked are extremely expensive and don't give enough capacity to record video over a weekend. UPDATES: 1. VIOFO emailed me to begin the process of refunding purchase cost for duplicate items. Still in the works. 2. The motion detection mode is not sufficiently sensitive to detect another car door slamming into your vehicle and beginning recording. Calling their support people to work on this; it is one of the primary reasons for me purchasing this specific system.
