Works great for Dreamcast VGA to HDMI
It works well for the resolutions it supports, with clean output and no waviness unlike many adapters I've tried in the past. I initially planned to use this on an old PC with DOS/Windows 98, however it did not support the text modes necessary for the DOS boot menu I'd set up or the BIOS configuration on the old PC. It worked if I put a GBS-Control box between the PC and this box's input, but the output then became a mess with waviness and crushed colors. It did however work flawlessly with my Dreamcast VGA box, which was using an OSSC to connect to my television up until now; I put the OSSC on the PC, where that works with the weird text video modes this fails to display, and used this with the Dreamcast VGA box where it works without any issues since the Dreamcast just needs 480p. I'm happy with it as a Dreamcast VGA to HDMI solution, even if this isn't the configuration I expected when I bought it.

Retro Gamers Need This
Recently acquired a brand new Compaq FS7600 CRT Monitor for retro gaming, but nothing I own has a VGA input. While searching, people kept recommending some expensive ones on eBay, but I decided to try this and it works perfectly. I have tested with my SNES using a Retrotink 2x and the picture is excellent. The power cord for this device is not needed as the HDMI cord carries enough power to run it.

It works surprisingly well
I'm preparing to purchase a new TV to replace my ancient relic that had a VGA input on it. My A/V setup includes a computer with an VGA output, to stream online courses and such. I've previously had a great deal of trouble with such converters. Either they are very limited in resolutions they can convert, or have a very bad conversion quality. This one just worked! When I set the computer to a lower resolution that's uncommon these days, it followed right along without complaining. The sound adapter was also perfect. It's also built like a tank. A bit pricey but I ended up feeling that it was good value for the money. I would certainly buy another if I needed this functionality again.

It works. Turned a PCs VGA output into an HDMI output
Works perfectly. Tried a less expensive device which did not work at all. This one was a little more expensive and worth it.

NOT 4 DOS???
I have yet found a VGA to HDMI adaptor that will correctly display DOS text or POST text from retro style PC. This one is no different, just as other users had written. As such, I can only conclude that the VGA to HDMI simply will not work with an old retro PC POST or DOS base text. It works fine in other applications such as my old projector, but with DOS its a no-go. That being said I do have other uses for this device, and it does appear to be of robust design, almost industrial.

CRT COMPATIBLE
I was reluctant to buy most HDMI to VGA adapters because the first adapter I got for my 2001 HP Pavilion v50 CRT, wasn't working at all for my CRT. The CRT would just go to sleep, and wasn't getting registered by my computer at all, while my LCD displays would work fine. This one worked perfectly, and as I later found out, can run off of JUST HDMI POWER alone, which helps free up space a bit since I don't have to be tethered to an outlet for the adapter. It is a bit bulky, but the screw holes on the side encourage mounting it somewhere. And for those worried about latency? I found out via slow motion video that it was as low as my Main LG LCD main monitor!

Will it support BIOS and one time boot menu?
This review is for the JideTech HDMI to VGA Converter with 3.5mm Audio Supports 1080P for PC Laptop Display Computer Mac Projector It is not endorsed, paid or otherwise a compensated review. I bought and paid for this thing myself. I just got this thing today. I couldn't wait to try it out. The big question is will it support 640 x 480 and 600 x 800? These resolutions are commonly used for your BIOS Set-Up, and One Time boot menu (not to mention your splash screen). If you look at the passive adapters. or the HDMI to VGA cables, they don't pass these resolutions. While they do work great for viewing Windows on a legacy VGA monitor, you won't be able to get into your one time boot menu or BIOS. (Disclaimer--Actually you can get into them, you just can't see them). Well, glad to say I plugged this in and it does! So that's why you buy this. I paid $32.00 and I may just get another one for the lab. This thing is a winner. And as far as I can tell it is a one-of-a-kind product. I did see an Industrial Enterprise box somewhere, which was something like this for about $600. At 600 x 800 clear and bright. At 640 x 480 a usable image with flickering, but that could be my monitor. No complaints, still usable. I currently have, on my monitors, a DP to VGA cable on one, a HDMI to VGA adapter on another, and I am going to keep this thing around because it overcomes the scaling hurdle of these other adapters. JideTech, you did it!

Lo usé para conectar un proyector que cuando lo conectaba con un cable de 3 mts. Si funcionaba y cuando lo conecté a un cable de 15 mts. No! Así que con este amplificador de señal, el problema se solucionó
