The steel is good and as far as sizing - I found the length recommendations from the provided foot chart accurate but the skates run narrow so I went up a size (I'm 10-1/2 wide and I went with an 11). The only problem with these skates is the plastic composite material on the outer shell. The material makes it painful to tie the skates tight and bend your knees - they will really dig into your legs. If you're okay with keeping your skates loose than they're pretty good skates.

I just received the skates for my son they look really nice definitely something different than the bower style of skates haven't tested them out yet looks like they will perform well I will resubmit a new review or another review after I test them out they did arrive in a timely fashion
